Job Title: Health Information System (HIS)  Assistant

Duty Station: Aden with frequent travel to field sites

JOB SUMMARY

The Health Information System Assistant is responsible for the data entry of health facilities and mobile team data into soft copy format for the Health facility and Mobile team implementation the health care programs in his area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in daily data entry of health facilities and mobile team data into soft copy format.
  • Review health facilities and mobile team data in terms of accuracy and that all required forms (hard and soft) are filled completely and correctly
  • Provide on a casual basis timely feedback with regard  to data quality issues such accuracy and completeness so it will be corrected on time as necessary
  • Assist in the completion of data entry and share reports on time as per agreed deadlines.
  • Conduct Data Quality Assurance upon the request of the HIS officer
  • Assist in data validation with the hardcopies to ensure data accuracy
  • Contribute to achieve and document all reports and activities as per IMC guideline.
  • Assist in filing and archiving all evidence of implementation including reports both electronically and in hard copies
  • Conduct field verification visits and submit narrative report on findings upon the request of the HIS officer
  • Assists in preparing data required for donor reports, cluster reports and project proposal data as necessary
  • Contribute to consolidating daily information from relevant program staff as required During outbreak situations
  • Provide a checklist with the number of reports submitted and missing. Record the reasons for missing reports.
  • Contribute to giving feedback on major findings in terms of reporting errors, frequent mistakes, and any other report related issues.
  • The assignment deliverables shall include:
    • Weekly submission of databases following the entry of weekly and routine reports
    • Submission of report findings to the relevant staff
    • Provide a list of all submitted and missing reports.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse: Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. Communicates these values to staff and to partners and requires them to adhere to these values

ACCOUNTABILITY

Reporting to: HIS Officer

Directly supervise: None

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field
  • At least 1- 2 years of work experience related to the qualification
  • At least 1 year of relevant data and information management work
  • Knowledgeable in the following applications – MS Office, DHIS 2, Kobo, and other survey/statistical tools
  • Willing to work with a multi-disciplinary team of differing backgrounds
  • Willing to travel to project sites 50% of his/her work time
  • Speaks and writes in Arabic with Fair verbal and written English language skills
