British Council Yemen is recruiting one Business Administration Manager. The candidate must already have legal rights to work in the country.
To oversee the management of the business operations, local financial processes and Estates, with IT and Security functions. The role will ensure that British Council corporate standards and relevant polices/ procedures are met.
Ensure that the business support team are efficiently and effectively deployed to support operations in achieving business objectives and ensuring compliance across the business support areas.
The role will ensure that team performance adds value to the delivery of objectives and to ensure that all risks, particularly financial compliance and business continuity are identified, monitored, managed and controlled.
To support new initiatives and organisational change by providing appropriate advice, support, training and leadership to all operational teams.
To be a key, and pro-active member of the Country Leadership Team.
- Fluent level of reading, speaking and writing skills in English and Arabic
- University degree in Business Management OR equivalent relevant experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in business management
- Knowledge and experience of working in Yemen after 2015
- Experience in managing and leading teams in an international context and working in a multi-cultural organisation
- Excellent business and commercial knowledge and acumen
- Understanding of business strategy and policy development in principle and practice
- Experience working in a Matrix structure
- Working in both public, not for profit and private sector organisations
