Overall purpose of the role

The Livelihood assistant is responsible to assist the Livelihood officer in the implementation of the project. good communication with the local authorities, beneficiaries and the organization support departments.                                                                                                                       

Main responsibilities                                          

  • Assist the Livelihood officer in the sensitization of the key stakeholders - Government and I/NGos - working in target districts, sub-districts and, communities about the project concept, benefits, targeting criteria, implementation strategies and modalities, monitoring and other such aspects.
  • Assist in the identification /selecting target communities and beneficiaries, as per agreed criteria and, in sensitizing them about the interventions and benefits. Work closely with the partners to identify, select and, train Community in the ‘garden technology’ using organic methods and local inputs.
  • Follow up in the procurement and finance procedure to deliver the require items for supplying to beneficiaries upon training.
  • Work in the field with the beneficiaries to assist and participation communities and households and monitor, report to ensure all are productive all-round the year.
  • Raised all needed input according to the work plan, in daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  •  Prepare and submit monitoring and progress reports to the Livelihood officer.
  • Assist in the implementation of the project with the livelihood officer.
  • Attend to other tasks as and when assigned by your supervisor;

Essential qualities and experiences: 

  • Secondary school, Bachelor’s degree in agriculture engineering or Horticulture or Food Production discipline is strongly preferable.
  • At least one year working with humanitarian organization, in the same field general food distribution.
  • Must be proficient Arabic and had good understanding in English.
  • Excellent familiarity to security, programming, and cultural contexts in Amran; At least one-year experience in the same contexts.
  • Preferable from the same area.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of precautions and security concerns for organizing distributions;
  • Ability to write reports;
  • Commitment to the organization and the work.

Languages: (indicate fluency level)

  • English language (written and spoken) strongly preferable.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic language (written and spoken)
