  • 1 or more years of relevant work experience with an advanced educational degree in a relevant area of expertise OR 3 or more years of relevent experience with a first university degree with relevant years of experience 

(Administrative/Assistant/Secretariat work experience is not considered, except for years holding Associate positions or above (UN equivalent grade G-6 or above), in which case each year is counted at 50%).

  • ·         Fluency in English (level C written and spoken).
  • ·         Fluency in Arabic (level C written and spoken).
  • ·         Yemeni citizenship.


Assisting 91.4 million people in around 83 countries each year, the World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving Lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

In 2019, WFP is scaling up its Yemen operations aiming to provide 12 million people with monthly food assistance through direct food distributions, vouchers or cash and nutritional support to nearly 3 million pregnant and nursing women and children under 5.


To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes and activities.
  2. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  3. Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects.
  4. Engagement with Risk Leads/risk Owners as well as YECO Management through a quarterly consolidation, analysis and presentation of risks, and the implementation status of the ERM with all its various components in the YECO; as well as raise concerns with Management regarding technical Units who are not moving towards risk -minded approach to decision making and execution at functional level
  5. Review the Approved YECO Risks Appetite Statement (RSA) against the Risk Heat Map, and the Risk Matrix in order to draw the RCA and Managements attention to scenarios where risk levels have exceeded the thresholds - (both the Risk Appetite; and the Tolerance Level-- Coordinate discussions with department managements and establish a follow up mechanism to notify Technical Units once RAS is reached;
  6. In coordination with the RCA, YECO Senior Management (CD, DCDs, and Heads of Unit), RBC and RMR establish a Risk Management/AFAC integration Model to support an informed enforcement of AFAC Policy as well as an interface between AFAC and Risk Management;
  7. Work with the Risks & Compliance Colleagues in coordination with Partnership and Programme to undertake Targeted Spot checks on Partrners - Finance, Programme/Operations and Expenditure Reports Vs. Outputs - Undertake a risk Review of CPs and develop and/or refine the Partners Risks Matrix- Also consider the  option to review and rank YECO technical units in terms of risks and link this to the risk heat map; Share and/or make a presentation of the final outcome with the YECO Management indicating measures needed to mitigate the impact
  8. Any other assigned task 


  • Relevant work experience in the field of auditing, accounting or Risk and Internal Control and oversight work with reputable organisations.
  • Work experience with Humanitarian Agencies, INGOs, UN, Private Sector Firms and Audit and Accounting Firms; able to link donor funding to risk and internal controls.
  • Internal control or risk management related experience.
  • Has implemented programmes and provided input into designing operations.
    • Has provided input into policy discussions and decisions.
