Aiming to feed 13 million of the most vulnerable people with food assistance, WFP’s emergency response in Yemen is the agency’s largest anywhere in the world. WFP also provides nutrition support to 1.7 million children and mothers and delivers school meals to 850,000 children each day.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Assisting 91.4 million people in around 83 countries each year, the World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving Lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

In 2019, WFP is scaling up its Yemen operations aiming to provide 12 million people with monthly food assistance through direct food distributions, vouchers or cash and nutritional support to nearly 3 million pregnant and nursing women and children under 5.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform specialized and/or standardized processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with risk mitigation activities and guidelines.
  • Update and maintain relevant Ibb MEF (Monitoring & Evaluation Findings), Hotline databases and records, ensuring that relevant information is accurate, organized, available for other team members and partners to access, and supports feedback requirements.
  • Ensure Ibb beneficiary lists are prepared and uploaded to the SharePoint of Ibb Area Office (in coordination with the Programme Unit Ibb).
  • Compile all cases flagged by the CO-focus on CRM Hotline or MEF. Follow up on beneficiary’s issues and complaints of “High Priority” relayed to Ibb Field Office’s attention.
  • Validate hotline data on daily basis and ensure the accuracy of this data. Insert the data collected into pre-set database.
  • Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g. MEF status reports and Hotline tracking report) in order to support operational decision-making.
  • Work and exchange information, as per internal standing operating procedures, with internal counterparts and partners to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of issue flagged to FO.
  • Responsible for editing and validating all information uploaded into MEF or CRM database.
  • Prepare monthly statistical reports on the Hotline calls, issue tracked through the MEF and submit to the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
  • Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and sound judgement when sharing information to other stakeholders particularly when communicating issues to partners or local authorities.
  • Assist in any other tasks as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education.

Language: Fluent (level C) English and Arabic in both oral and written communication.

Experience: Three years’ work experience in monitoring and data management, preferably in humanitarian assistance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Has experience analysing programme output and outcome data.
• General knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards.
