Action Contre la Faim vocation is to save lives by combating hunger, disease and those crises threatening the lives of vulnerable men, women and children. Action Contre la Faim currently operates in 46 countries including Yemen globally and conduct programs in nutrition, food security, health, water and sanitation.

JOB TITLE: Supply Chain Officer

Department: Logistics Department

Location: Aden

Duration: 6 months



Executing procurement process, warehousing process, and transport management whilst ensuring ACF procedures & mandate, best practices and maintaining audit-compliant records. 

Objective 1: Supervision, Monitoring and Management of Procurement

  •  Ensure that all procurement carried out by following Kit Log / Donors procedure
  • Procurement follow -up (PFU) properly filled and utilized for monitoring of all procurements
  • Ensure that all procurement done by following good business practices (ethics) and the value for money principles
  • Ensure the timely delivery of material purchased (monitor the lead time for each delivery)
  • Conduct market surveys to enhance the market knowledge
  • Ensure updating of supplier data base
  • Validate the purchases where required (as per authorized signature form)
  • Ensure the frame work agreement for all regular supplies
  • Devise / Suggest the procedures for smooth on time procurement
  • Support the program team in drafting Project procurement plan (PPP) / Supply Plan (SP)
  • Ensure that Supply Plans updated on regular basis
  • Closely monitor the management of in kind donations
  • Provide support to field teams on procurement issues

Objective 2: Supervision, Monitoring and Management of Transport

  • Ensure all transportation conducted by following the procedures outlined in Kit Log
  • Responsible to identify the transport service provider for mission
  • Ensure that team follow the safety standards for safe transportation of material
  • Provide support to field teams on transport issues
  • Manage International Transportation in coordination with Logistics Manager if required

Objective 3: Supervision, Monitoring & Management of Stock:

  • Ensure the management of stocks / warehouses as per procedures outlined in Kit Log
  • Ensure that all documentation related to stock management available
  • Ensure the tracking of material
  • Ensure the availability of updated stock reports / SFU
  • Provide support to field teams on stock  issues
  • Monitor the stock level for critical supplies, ensure the alert sent to program teams for low stocks

Objective 4:  Accountability & Reporting

  • Ensure the timely Logistics reporting as per Kit Log standard (PFU, Stock Report, IKD Follow-up, Supply chain part of log narrative report, cash forecast)
  • Provide support/feedback to field teams on record and reporting
  • Ensure the availability of all Logistics documentation/record for audit purpose
  • Ensure the proper archiving of all logistics record
  • Ensure that all ACF policies (conflict of interest, child protection, etc.) followed while conducting procurement.
  • Day-to-day management of his/her team (planning, guidance, follow-up, motivation)
  • Taking part in the recruitment of his/her teams
  • Working out and monitoring individual action plans for team members
  • Managing planning, task sharing and coordination of work
  • Identifying the training needs of team members

Bachelor degree (Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Management or relevant)



  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management preferably in INGO in which minimum 1 year experience in similar / supervisory role

  • Level of the position: Officer
  • Basic salary in accordance with our National Salary grid
  • Transportation allowance
  • Eid bonus: a full basic salary per year
