Assisting 91.4 million people in around 83 countries each year, the World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving Lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

In 2019, WFP is scaling up its Yemen operations aiming to provide 12 million people with monthly food assistance through direct food distributions, vouchers or cash and nutritional support to nearly 3 million pregnant and nursing women and children under 5.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide specialized support functions and/or supervise staff performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Liaise and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of commodities.
  • Update and share the weekly summary tracking sheet on local food procurement.
  • Verify and calculate the liquidating damages in coordination with procurement.
  • Coordinate the new contracts/call offs shared by procurement and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Ensure all PO are released before the contract resumes.
  • Follow up Quality and Quantity (Q&Q) with inspection CO. for the above assigned commodities.
  • Calculate / prepare the inspection call offs to be signed by Head of Supply Chain and Country Director.
  • Follow up with the procurement to raise the inspection PO.
  • Share call offs with inspection company and relevant WFP Staff.
  • Follow up to ensure the presence of SGS for inspection and samples.
  • Coordinate with RMU to plan for the monthly requirement that are planned to be secured locally.
  • Provide solutions for complex issues related to the delivery of goods.
  • Communicate with warehouse and commodity accounting to ensure GRNs are captured in LESS.
  • Others as required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Experience maintaining corporate systems and running queries on ongoing shipments, pipeline information, insurance claims, and food stock.
• Experience in administering third party service providers’ contracts.
• Experience in compiling contract documentation.
• Experience in contract execution.
• Experience in budget monitoring and reporting.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of secondary school education;
  • Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English.
  • Either a Yemeni citizen or a foreign citizen with permanent Yemeni work permit.
