Vacancy Announcement for National Personnel for the German International Cooperation / Risk Management Office - Yemen (PN. 17.2137.2-001.00) implemented by the GIZ Office Sana’a.

With immediate effect the GIZ Office Sana’a invites applications from qualified Yemeni nationals for the following position: 

  • Position: Guard

  • End of Contract: 30.04.2021

  • Post Location: Sana’a

 

Responsibilities

The Guard is responsible for

  • guarding GIZ premises;

  • smooth and timely performance of the assigned tasks;

  • reports immediately at any time any unusual events that occur in connection with the safety & security of the GIZ personnel, assets, offices etc… (e.g. fire, riot or theft and damages);

Main Tasks

  • The Risk Management Advisor - Aden performs the following tasks:

  • guarding GIZ premises and parking places, observing and reporting to responsible staff;

  • reports immediately at any time any events out of the ordinary and any disturbance that occurs in connection with the functionality and safety of the office e.g. fire, riot or theft and damages to lamps, water pipes, and others;

  • overall security of the office premises;

  • when assigned:

  • assisting in monitoring of CCTV system and reporting immediately any suspicious incident may affect the security of GIZ;

  • handling the access control by strictly inspecting visitors, vehicles, etc. before authorising access to GIZ buildings;

  • prevent any unauthorized attempt of getting GIZ properties out of premises;

  • escorting visitors, laboureurs, etc… Inside GIZ permises;

  • holding the keys to all GIZ gates, buildings and safe rooms according to standard procedures;

  • opening and closing, unlocking and locking main gates and buildings;

  • opening safe rooms for staff in emergencies;

  • handling keys of projects vehicles and make sure they are being used by authorized personnel;

  • ensuring all vehicles and their keys are accounted for and locked in the key box by the end of the working hours;

  • report any incident noticed on any vehicle to RMO;

  • reports damage(s) of office cars, premises and equipment and systems (electricity, water, heating) according to the responsibility;

  • undertakes further job training related to his/her position and duties if required;

  • carries out other work upon the request of the management;

Required qualifications, competences and experience

  • minimally elementary school.

  • hold a valid driving license.

  • minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar position in an international organization with references.

  • no history of theft or damage.

  • personal integrity and reliability.

  • discipline and punctuality.

  • basic English language skills.
