Job Description

Vocational training assistant

Report to: GBV reporter officer 
Duration :10 Months 
Duty Station: Taiz ( Almudhafar)

ROLE PURPOSE:

Under supervision of GBV reporter officer and in close coordination with health and protection assistant, the vocational training assistant will be a crucial part of a team responsible and accountable for ensuring the implementation of vocational training and Income Generation activities related to the project, plan and monitor vocational training  with close supervision for trainers, lead the team to respond to the need of the beneficiaries  after carful assessment for what is need by the market and community.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Planning

  • Under the supervision of GBV reporter officer and in close coordination with Health and protection Assistant, develop clear work plan for vocational training activities, and share it with project officer and manager and relevant Offices.
  • Provide information on acceptable and required handicraft in the market and preferred by vulnerable households so that it will be able to provide them with livelihood support accordingly.

Implementing

  • Prepare database and registration forms of beneficiaries which is systemized and carryout project survey and assessment .
  • Work with  Community volunteers and related offices  to collect data  and undertake and market survy  activities according to developed action plan
  • Keep close coordination and liaison with local authority and  community committees  and agriculture office  workers, and partners and to facilitate the implementation of the project activities.
  • Conduct training on data collection and prepare database and registration forms and survey tools related to vocational training
  • In collaboration with the logistic team and his supervisor, facilitate and organize all logistics requirements.
  • Prepare the required financial documents for all payment to beneficiaries
  • Conduct any other activities requested by program manager.

Reporting/monitoring

  • Regularly monitor field activities, maintain working relationship between team member and community.
  • Help in collection of weekly and / or monthly progress reports and statistic reports from the field for submission to the project manager and update to the MEAL management and IMPACT.
  • Depending on the security situation, to conduct monthly/quarterly meeting with community workers and agriculture extensionist to discuss all related issues and to put plan for the coming period.

General

  • Take lead in resolution and management of the relevant community conflicts over common issues related with the project.
  • Report any problems in a timely manner to the health and protection assistance/ M&E filed assistant.
  • Participate in protection meetings at Taiz level and send regular update to Project manager.
  • Document and share lesson learnt achievements and successes from the field.
  • To take any other relevant task given by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree with work experience with international INGOs , relevant experience in data management , livelihoods works, vocational training work.
  • Extensive work experience in Social work with focus on community development and mobilization, data managmnet , livelihoods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, Diplomacy, Capability to create strong relationship between among all teams’ members and community.
  • Strong negotiation and  communication skill
  • Self motivated.
  • Strong training facilitation skill.
  • Have good English , speaking , writing skills
  • Have good computer skills , word, excel , pwoerpoint
  • Have good analytical skills and data management skills
