Field Officer Health / Hospital
Work Place: Al Talh / Saada

  • University degree or professional diploma in Health / Nursing / English /Social Science / Administration or a similar field


  • 3 - 5 year work experience in a similar field, health or hospital programme


  • Excellent knowledge of both written and oral Arabic and English.


  • Assists the ICRC Hospital Project Manager in the management of the Al Talh hospital programme
  • Acts as counterpart to all clinical MoPHP staff in Al Talh hospital
  • Responsible for training, data collection, and reporting
  • Is able to relate to all levels of health and non-health workers within the hospital
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, running and follow-up of Al Talh hospital programme

Main Responsibilities, under the supervision of the Hospital Project Manager

Assistance to the hospital project manager (HPM)

  • Together with the surgical team, participates to the follow-up, supervision and monitoring of the activities in the hospitals.
  • Organizes and holds meetings with the Hospital Management Team and with the Nursing Supervisors
  • Supervises the correct drug and consumables distribution to the patients, in cooperation with the MoPHP head nurse
  • Analyses the drug consumption and shares with the data with the medical store keeper
  • Contributes to fostering a positive relationship between the Surgical Team and the Ortho Team in relation to patients being referred and treated in the Ortho Centre independently

Data collection and analysis

  • Is responsible for the collection and the processing of all medical data related to the surgical programme
  • Analyses all collected medical data, and shares the results with the hospital project manager
  • Trains the hospital staff on data collection and analysis, through on the job training and more formal trainings.
  • Gives feedback to the hospital staff on all data and reports as part of continuous training and to create ownership of the MoPHP staff for the hospital programme
  • Keeps medical confidentiality of all patient information and ensures the respect of this rule by all staff


  • Responsible for the training schedule of the hospital programme
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, running and follow- up of ICRC training and education sessions for the clinical staff in Al Talh hospital together with the HPM and the surgical team
  • Performs weekly training sessions for the hospital staff together with members of the surgical team on topics related to the surgical hospital programme
  • Contributes to the planning and execution of ICRC seminars (Emergency Room Training Course ERTC and Weapon Wounded Surgery Seminar WWSS)
  • Supports the Field Officer – hospital administration - regarding issues relating to the training sessions in respect to transportation, lunch and stationary
  • Follows the attendance of the training sessions


  • Prepares the Weekly Operational Report (WOR) on the hospital activities and shares with the HPM
  • Contributes to the Quarterly Technical Health reports
  • Contributes to the Health annual planning exercise
  • Writes Minutes of Meetings
