Consultant: Development of Success Stories

The Job

OVERVIEW OF TASKS:
To support communication and advocacy activities of the YFCA offices to produce text and visually appealing short humanitarian/success stories to bring a sharper understanding of YFCA humanitarian response in the associated projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with the project management team to identify the stories
  • Write the stories in both Arabic and English
  • Make a short video (2-3 minutes) with beneficiaries’ quotes, English Subtitle and relevant editing features (music, affects, etc.) for each story
  • Publish the final versions of the stories in the relevant media outlets (TV, Radio and social media); names of these media outlets and details of publishing will be stipulated in the contract
  • To complete all related works within 20 calendar days from the signature date of the contract

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree in media, graphic design and communication or related field
  • Proven skills on success stories writing, video editing applications, with experience in filming and production of short videos
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in communication media, with strong practical background in graphic design, including the knowledge of design software
  • Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes and colour management
  • Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms
  • Good knowledge of photography and image editing
  • Excellent coordination skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; Ability to operate under pressure
  • Proficiency in English
  • and good interpersonal skills.
  • Dynamic and creative.
  • Ability to manage stress, multi-task, take decisions and work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Yemen
  • The ability to work independently using own initiative to solve problems (focusing on solutions)
