Ended Cash Management Assistant

The Job

CARE International is currently seeking a Cash Management Assistant who will be a part of a Finance Team As part of the CARE Finance team, undertake and complete all finance tasks and requirements, while providing support services to staff and the project.

Location: Taiz

Main Responsibilities:

Review of Documents Submitted for Payments and Creation of Payment Vouchers:

  • Ensure all backup paperwork is present and accurate for reimbursements and advances
  • Review all amounts, codes and verify arithmetic accuracy
  • Verify documents against CARE and donor regulations and explain cash procedures to the clients;
  • Reports of any irregularities immediately;
  • Follow-up and compare the Bank Statement and Reconciliation

Cash Payments Compliance:

  • Review payment vouchers and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with CARE’s financial guidelines
  • Maintain advance vouchers and ensure the advances are acquitted in a timely manner
  • Ensure that safe cash funds are always sufficient in both currencies
  • Report daily Cash balances to the team
  • Participate in cash flow plans

Documentation, Filling:

  • Ensure Cash counts are done each time payments have been done
  • Ensure all CARE related Payment Vouchers are handed over complete to Accountant for further processing
  • Track on opened advances and flag pending ones

Property management reconciliation:

  • Responsible for property management and reconciliation between the register and the CARE Yemen books

Provide administrative support

  • Ensure a clean and efficient working area, as well as a co-operative and supportive working environment

Required:

  • Good understanding of finance and administration
  • At least 2 years of experience in an INGO or International organization.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Able to travel to provinces at short notice.
  • Prepared to work extra hours to meet deadlines
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience
  • Experience in filing and safeguarding important documents
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to work under pressure as part of a busy team
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills and patience
  • Good understanding of finance and administration
