MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Under the supervision of the Logistic Officer, the Logistic Facility Assistant will be responsible for the following main activities in accordance to national and MdM procedures:

  • Follow up of general maintenance in office and guest house
  • Organize, and ensure that the facilities and equipment in the organization are in good shape for utilization.
  • Regular visit to Health Facilities –Hospitals that are supported by MDM, giving support in Assessment
  • Reporting and record-keeping of the fuel consumption and consumables for the generators in the office
  • Support the HFS technicians in some basic maintenance in the field.

TASKS DESCRIPTION:

Office and Guest House Maintenance & follow up

  • Inspection of organization’s facilities on a regular basis in order to avoid a frequent breakdown   that may arise from sudden malfunctioning of facilities
  • Keep the buildings in good working order and cleanness always. 
  • Replace Light Bulbs and perform minor electrical fixing/repairs 
  • Repair plumbing appliances & in case of heavy plumbing needs, to provide assistance to contractors
  • To maintain the hygiene and sanitation system of both office and guesthouse, ensure that water systems, sewage systems and electrical connections of the buildings are functioning and kept well
  • To track the regular water supply for the office compound and the guest house, make calls to the supplier when required.
  • Do some carpentry works like fixing furniture, doors in the organization & changing the locks if they are bad. 
  • Troubleshoot general problems: repair and replace general hardware and equipment.
  • Electrical maintenance and installations in MdM premises. 
  • Generator maintenance, (Check the regular maintenance). according to the planning done with the Logistic Officer.
  • Keep all records of maintenances done for easy tracking of the dates and day for the generator’s maintenance. 
  • Responsible for solar system panels maintenance (cleaning panels, batteries, etc.…) 
  • Video surveillance system maintenance, link up with the service providers for the works that are more technical.
  • Set up new electrical installments when required
  • Change, repair or install the necessary electric or network cables, switch, boxes.
  • Advise the logistics team in general electrical matters and Inspections of the electrical system when needed.
  • Support in the calculation of power loads in the offices and guest houses and make sure generators are connected to appliances proportionally according to the loads.
  • Regularly visit HFs in Marib supported by MDM, when it’s needed for regular maintenance or installation and support of the field technicians.
  • Do some cleaning and minor maintenances of the ACs in the offices and the guest house where required.

Health Facility Support

  • Regular visit to Health Facilities –Hospitals that are supported by MDM, giving support in doing assessments in the HFS equipment and appliances.
  • Evaluating general electrical maintenance and small installations or repairing needed. Empower the HFs technicians to do some minor maintenances.
  • Preparing bill of quantities for electrical and plumbing items that are needed for small maintenance at HF’s, physical check of items quality, specifications and quantity.
  • Solar systems and panels maintenance at Health Facilities.
  • Set up new electrical instalments when required.
  • Support the HFS technicians to change or repair defective light bulbs and electrical sockets at Health Facilities.
  • Carpentry works in fixing furniture, doors & changes the locks if they are bad at Health Facilities that support by MDM.
  • Support to check all the ACS in the pharmacies in the health facilities.

Stock and Materials Management.  

  • Responsible of MDM tools and materials in the Logistic store.
  • Maintain stock for materials and tools under his responsibility and record it in stock card.
  • Follow up stock in and out registration correctly.

Reporting

  • Inform the logistician for any problem concerning his tasks
  • Keeping accurate records of each task, records of each job with costs 
  • Updating and sharing monthly action plan for his tasks and field visits. 
  • Inform the logistician for any problem concerning the building
  • To attend to, where necessary, personnel visiting the site such as contractors, repair men, etc
  • Do a weekly log check for the premise, office and guesthouse. Report all malfunction in the weekly log check, and share it with the Logistic Supervisor.

OTHERS:

  • Be flexible in performing his/her duties 
  • Inform immediately the security focal point in case of any security problem 
  • Perform other additional duties on request of the logistics officer
  • Respect MdM rules and regulations including driver’s rules

PROFILE REQUIRED:

Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

Expériences

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role preferably in INGOs.

Competencies;

  • Punctual and has excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate under immense pressure.
  • Proven experience as maintenance & electrical technician.
  • Building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
  • Manual proficiency and problem-solving skills

Computer requirements:

  • Proficiency with the word, excel, and other special software.

Languages:

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Good Knowledge of the Arabic Language will be an advantage
