Job title: Child Protection Facilitator

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
 
20 %     Undertake field monitoring visits to UNICEF programme implementation sites, provide technical guidance and produce reports articulating strengths, progress against expected outputs, challenges, good practices and areas of needed improvement. 
20%    Collate information on needs, gaps, challenges, opportunities and the situation in hard-to-reach areas and draft reports for the office to consider interventions. 
10%    Ensure liaison between UNICEF and partners, government representatives in areas that UNICEF is unable to access, in collaboration with CP team in Aden. 
10%     Provide support to sub-national cluster coordinator on logistics, writing and distribution meeting notes and follow-up with partners for their participation and on the status of agreed actions. 
15%    Follow-up with UNICEF partners to ensure they inform UNICEF team ahead of time for their program activities to coordinate on visibility materials and to send UNICEF comms team for photography and interview beneficiaries for  Human Interest Stories and conduct end user monitoring of supplies delivered to UNICEF implementing partners. 
10%    Follow up with partners on compliance with HACT requirements in collaboration with the CP officer for example ensuring that timely action has been taken to conduct PMV.
5%    Coordinate and support the work of IMO by closely following up with partners to accurately update activity information in a timely manner.  
5%    Other tasks as required 

Deliverables

  • Submit monthly progress report in appropriate format to child protection officer based in Aden. 
  • Monitoring visit reports finalized and shared within 5 days. 
  • Situation updates produced as required 
  • Supply end user monitoring reports submitted on monthly bases. 
  •  Conduct at least two PMV’s for each month  
  •  Produce monthly Human Interest stories with suitable photos for donor reporting

Qualifications required

Degree in social work/science, Law, and human rights or equivalent.

Other qualifications

Child protection related trainings are added advantage 

Good Computer skills in MS Office and excel

Years’ experience

A minimum of two - three years of professional experience in Child Protection .

 

 

Ability to mobilize and build local networks of CBO’s and communities to child protection in highly complex emergencies.

Geographical experience

Working Experience in Aden

Willing to travel remote districts in Aden

              

Languages

Fluent Arabic and English.

Very good Report writing skills in English & local languages.
