Job Description

Muslim Hands is an international relief and development non-government organization established in 1993. The organization is currently working in 52 countries. Muslim Hands works both directly and with partners to carry out short- and long-term projects in education, health livelihoods, WASH and emergency relief.

This an exciting time to join an international NGO with over 26 years’ experience across 52 countries. Muslim Hands Yemen is undergoing new and positive changes. We are building on the capacity of the office, looking to implement new and innovative projects alongside opening new fundraising channels. This role is seen as pivotal to the long-term vision for Muslim Hands Yemen.

Position:  MEAL Officer

Reports to: Senior MEAL Officer

Location: Marib – essential travel is required to other areas of Yemen.

Contract Type: FT (four months with possibility of extension).

SUMMARY:

This position is under the overall guidance of MEAL Department. S/he will have responsibility to designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for all MH projects (WASH, health, education and FSL) in Yemen. also be required to analyze the data gathered and advise the program staff and senior management on issues relating to program quality, including developing and overseeing the establishment of beneficiary complaints and feedback mechanisms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitoring the measurement of the project (activities and progress towards achieving the project output).

2. Frequent field visits to conduct an on-going data collection process and conducting verification to ensure that projects target beneficiaries meet with selected criteria.

3. Designing assessment plans and tools including the design of data collection forms (PDM)in Kobo tool box.

4. Preparing the output tracker for all sectors.

5. Preparing MEAL reports including field visits, PDMs, spot check, weekly and other reports.

6. Participate in baseline, end-line, need assessment and PDM surveys.

7. Ensure accuracy of data and prepare monitoring checklist to measure the performance and track progresses.

8. Conducting a training on monitoring tools to field officers and enumerators.

9. Supervised the MEAL Assistant, data entry staff and volunteers of MEAL department.

10. Preparing a system for the complaints and feedbacks and conduct a training on CARM info to make sure the complaints is recorded and then follow up the case is referred to the responsible team until the case is really closure.

11. Any other duties as requested by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, M&E science or related field.

2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MEAL activities of projects' implementation.

3. Ability to work in structured manner and remotely manage individuals.

4. Excellent data designing, analysis, developing tools and report-writing skills.

5. Excellent communication skills, including a supportive working style.
