Job Description

Background:

 A Trading( importing and exporting) company located in Sana’a

VACANCY: Accountant

Position status:            Full-time

Location:                        Sana’a

 

Main Purpose

Ensure that all the financial transactions of the company are done in professional and organized manners.

Responsibilities

  • Working to accurately enter the financial operations into the accounting system on a timely basis.
  • Review daily payments/transactions. Ensure accurate calculation, correct authorization and documentation as well as compliance with company procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that financial transactions are accompanied by appropriate and relevant supporting documents signed and authorized by the company manager.
  • Ensure payment and receipt vouchers are duly completed and attached with appropriate supporting documents to provide adequate/accurate information on accounting transactions.
  • Follow up the salaries and wages of employees and workers and prepare their reports and submit them to the management on a monthly basis.
  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly accounts (including all monthly records)
  • Preparing the monthly report of debtors/creditors, outstanding payments and other items.
  • With the support of the CFO, ensure high quality reports are prepared to suppliers and customers in a timely manner
  • Perform regular cash and bank reconciliations, check amounts held and report any discrepancies
  • Prepare copies of vouchers and other supporting documents as required for the monthly report package.
  • To check all cash and bank receipts and check them after stamping and maintaining the system of keeping and maintaining the receipts so that the files are updated, completed and preserved.
  • Maintaining a financial archiving room.

This job description is not intended to be exhaustive, the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and is responsible for reporting and communicating the progress and achievement of the assigned task.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or other related field.
  • At least two years of experience in accounting.
  • Good experience in dealing with accounting systems as well as basic computer programs (Word - Excel..etc)..
  • English Language (Preferable)

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Ability to plan, organize, implement and report
  • Ability to keep sensitive information as confidential.
  • Capacity to take initiative, and suggest modifications in the process
