The Job

Action Contre la Faim (ACF), is an International Humanitarian Organization which is private, non-political, non-denomination and non-profit making. Action Contre la Faim vocation is to save lives by combating hunger, disease and those crises threatening the lives of vulnerable men, women and children. ACF currently operates in 46 countries globally and conduct programs in nutrition, food security, health, water and sanitation.


 Location: Hodaidah
Duration:   to 31 /12 /2018
Assignment: Implement the logistics policy of the mission to ensure good logistical performance and provide the best possible support to the programs in terms of supply.


Mission 1: Ensure the smooth running of the supply chain (order, purchase, storage and deliveries);

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for:

  • Supervise the weekly Procurement Requests process;
  • Ensure that all information are correctly filled and treated according to ACF standards;
  • Ensure that all documents regarding the supply chain are filed according ACF procedures;
  • Effectively manage/oversee the organization of the warehouse according to ACF/supply guidelines;
  • Supervise the management of the In and Out of the Store
  • Ensure the traceability between purchase and storage
  • Ensure the adequacy between the physical check and the Stock Follow Up and perform regular and ad-hoc check;
  • Compile the monthly report for the supply part
  • Analyze the Supply Chain indicators and performance
  • Make sure ACF logistical procedures are respected
  • Monitoring and updating the procurement plan and Supply Plan
  • Negotiation and selection of suppliers

Mission 2: Supervise the Purchasing Process;

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for:

  • Organize the procurement planning with the Programs;
  • Identify all Framework Agreements
  • Organize a fair competition among service provider for procurement of supply, services and work at Hodeidah level 
  • Support the Supply Officer on Negotiated Procedure Process when necessary and volume of supplies is consequent;
  • Develop relations with new suppliers and maintain good relation

Mission 3: Supervise the Storage Management;

The Supply Chain manager is responsible for:

  • Guarantee that the procedures and instructions of stock management are followed;
  • Ensure that security stock is respected at any time;
  • Control inventories of the stock (monthly and randomly);
  • Advise the Warehouse Officer in terms of Pharmacy Management if necessary

Mission 4: Supervise the Supply Logistics Team:

The Supply Manager is responsible for:

  • Establish a work plan for the supply team;
  • Manage the planning of the Supply logistics team at Hodeidah level
  • Carry out appraisal interviews
  • Provide technical support to the team if necessary.
  • Taking part in the recruitment of his/her teams
  • Identifying the training needs of team members
  • Developing, organizing and leading training sessions.



- University Degree in Management, Finance, or high School leaving certificate + 2 years professional experience in Logistics field.


Computer knowledge (Word and Excel) – Negotiating skills – Good organizing capacity, Management experience - Diplomacy - Rigour (on procedures)-  Team Spirit and communication skills- Autonomy -  Honesty - Fluent in both English and Arabic languages.
