Job Description

Save the Children in Yemen is looking for eligible candidates for the position of

FSL Data Management Program Officer– National – Amran, Yemen

Position Objectives: 

The purpose of the job is to assist the FSL teams in Sana’a and Amran in all aspects of information management, to ensure that FSL information is managed well and All data report send in time in order to facilitate food Security & Livelihood activities. 
Under the supervision of the FSL Coordinator, with technical support from the FSL program Officer, FSL engineer program Officer the Data management staff will work to ensure that all FSL managment data (including GFD system, All beneficiaries list , Payment , progress report  ) is documented, whereby ensuring adherence to confidentiality protocols. In addition, the Data management Officer will ensure that achievements are systematically captured in the relevant narrative and numerical reporting formats.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Needs Analysis and Program Design:

  • Design and participate in required assessments with assistance from Senior FSL Manager.
  • Contribute to situation analysis and participate actively in developing the area food security and livelihood strategy.
  • Participate in the required assessments.
  • Provide data entry support for any FSL related assessments including IPTT IMPACT Analysis.

Data Management and Data Entry

  • Compile and enter beneficiary and project information into databases from regularly collected (handwritten) registration forms and lists of FSL program; update and revise data when details change as well as follow-up information.
  • Generate statistical reports, graphs, and maps and follow up on FS grants.
  • Manged and format and clean data collected and entered, highlight inconsistencies or errors in data collection.

  • Provide easy to read information with proper formatting and consolidation of data.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly cumulative database for tracking beneficiaries reached under the different activities.

  • Report FSL  data in IMPACT and ensure all figures match those reported on IPTT and other reporting tools and All WFP System, progress report  . 
  • Manage data for regular monitoring and reporting activities and provide summary analysis for reports on time.
  • Compile all activity reports collected for All FSL modalities in Sana’ a and  Amran Office  .
  • Summarize and report data against required WFP reporting formats.
  • Ensure that the relevant reporting formats (IPTT, narrative, output tracker, setrip, IMPACT, WFP system ) are updated and submitted to the program manager on timely basis
  • Timely responding to FSL cluster data requirements using shared templates and share them with the Program Manager.
  • Any activities required from line manger.
  • Ensure data is backed up and computer system is protected from computer viruses, in coordination with IT Department.
  • Ensure all hard documents are filled and archived systematically.
  • Perform duties of the Project staff in case of their absence.
  • Lead the data entry of all performed assessments including DDM and PDM in coordination with MEAL staff.
  • In case of emergency, be prepared to contribute to the delivery of an appropriate and timely response to FSL needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • At least Bachelor in information technology or any relevant studies or At least 3 years work experience in a humanitarian context, with an NGO or UN organization.
  • Computer literate (Strong skills in Micro office application (Word, Excel .....etc).
  • Ability to do data entry very fast and accurately.
  • Good understanding of key areas of Child Protection programming; knowledge of other sectors such as education and health is considered an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and increase work hours in the event of emergencies.
  • Written and spoken Arabic; able to write and communicate in English; willingness to further improve English language skills.
  • Ability to participate in data collection, feeding and reports generation.
  • Strong representational and communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Ability and willingness to be mobile.
  • Experience of working in an insecure environment.
  • Experience of working in Monitoring and Evaluation is an asset.
  • Good level of physical health and fitness.
