Al‐Magd Charitable & Humanitarian Relief & Development, is a non‐profit humanitarian charity Foundation, under Yemen law no.1 of 2001, started its activity in 1993‐94 Licensed In 1999, contributing to sustainable social development in the Republic of Yemen by funding, support and supervised a number of programs and development projects, building cooperation with public sector and private International non‐profit organization, within the Republic of Yemen.

JOB PURPOSE: To focus on quality assurance in regard to pharmaceutical and medical commodities, and ensuring that pharmaceutical stock management is adhered to MCHR protocol and Yemen MOPHP standards.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Associate Warehouse Officer with daily activities of medical storage.
  • Ensures that medical commodities in the MCHR warehouse are received, stored and transported in accordance with internationally accepted standard practices including tracking expiration dates, First In First Out policy, bin cards, stock cards, tracking registers, re-order thresholds, cleanliness, temperature monitoring, humidity and light exposure and other tasks pertinent for the maintenance for the viability and storage of pharmaceuticals and medical consumables.
  • Defining storage, stock management and supply processes, as well as hygiene and security procedures, tools, and protocols (controlling pests and rodents).
  • Supervising orders of medical and drug material in order to ensure an efficient and appropriate consumption pattern under budget constraints.
  • Ensuring efficient supply to other pharmacies transported from MCHR according to orders and stocks that comes from Partner, and using cold chain when needed.
  • Follow up pharmaceutical and medical commodities stocks and communicate the need to request for replenishment
  • Monitoring and analyzing orders of depending pharmacies in order to avoid ruptures of stock or having expired drugs.
  • Responsible for timely reporting of pending stock outs, damaged medication or any other irregularities observed with regard to the use of pharmaceuticals and medical commodities to line supervisor
  • Recording all items received and issued in (stock) and reporting on drug consumptions and medical equipment dispensed according to protocols, informing on unusual patterns as well as forecasting future needs, in order to rationalize the budget and to ensure availability.
  • Following strictly the implemented MCHR security rules.

Selection requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Pharmacy with relevant trainings in specialized field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a similar field preferably with NGO.
  • Knowledge of establishing and management of pharmacy.
  • Flexibility, able to work under stressful situations with extensive working hours.
  • Advanced computer skills (Word and Excel) and good internet user.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Good capacity for negotiation and communication.
  • Team Player and analytical skills.
  • Rigorous and trustful person.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Accurate and honest.
  • Good presentation to state the ideas.
