Location:  Sana’a, Yemen
Reports to:  MEAL & Partnership Advisor 
Duration: From 8 spetember, 2022 till 08 August,2023. Renewable based on fund availability and performance. ‎
Note: Position is open  for Yemeni Nationals only.

Position Summary

As primary point of contact for all information and data management functions in the RI programmes, the Information / knowledge management Coordinator will be in direct coordination with the programme teams, providing and supporting with all relevant activities to the information management. 

Scope of Work:

Data Quality and Database Management:

  • Supporting Information management Officers and MEAL officers in developing and implementing relevant processes and tools that optimize efficiency and data quality. 
  • Reviewing data flow processes for each project on regular basis and seek ways to strengthen data-driven programming and streamlining data collection and analysis.
  • Overseeing day-to-day integrity of databases and data procedures, and provide guidance on the effective use of the database in order to ensure data consistency and data integrity in the system
  • Leading the compilation of beneficiary counting for the RI Yemen ITT with particular focus on unique and double counting of beneficiaries.
  • Performing regular quality checks and compare and verify accuracy of data with source documents for consistency.
  • Analysing and report regularly on the quality and consistency of the data.
  • Supporting the MEAL team in collecting, processing and analysing monitoring and accountability data. 
  • Creating & adding all new projects operated by Relief International in LogAlto Monitoring & Evaluation System. Including, adding the general information of the projects, creating the log frame of the projects within the system, and establishing the specified custom forms of each project. 
  • Updating the data in LogAlto of each project on monthly basis, after receiving IPTTs, Global Indicators and database and making sure it is verified and matched. 
  • Creating the custom forms needed within LogAlto system, enabling the process of automatic monitoring of the indicators designed in the projects IPTTs. 
  • Providing support to the needs assessments, and needs analysis activities; manage platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis such as KoBo Toolbox.
  • Establishing the soft archiving system for the project’s data source designed in the project log frames, allowing the MIS unit to conduct the verification process of the results received from the field. 
  • Conducting the field visits to the various project’s, along with providing the needed technical support to the data entries in coordination with data management officers of the projects.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities and tasks assigned by the MEAL TA Manage, maintain and further develop a database system that provides a platform for the collection of and repository for project activities, assistance tracking, and reporting

Data Visulalisation

  • Developing and producing accurate and timely routine reports, info-graphs, dashboards, and data retrievals for staff as required
  • Liaising with the MEAL Officers to utilize data to produce visualizations related to their projects to be shared with the Project Managers.
  • Preparing and sharing the sectors/clusters' related data, information, maps, guidelines, polices, interventions mapping and analysis and other IM products among the partners, in assisting to ensure a good identifying the needs, driving the response, eliminating the duplications and filling the gaps

Capacity Buillding

  • Build the capacity of programme teams in terms of data collection, data entry, data management and database use (including basic analysis) through on-going support and training. 
  • Identifying the MIS staff needed in the project’s designing phase (Proposal writing), based on the budget allocated as well as the structure of RI – MIS Unit. 
  • Clarifying and allocating the MIS’s Activities in the project’s designing phase of each project which would be conducted within the implementation phase of the project.
  • Providing the technical support to HR department for MIS team recruitment process to all projects, includes the TORs verification and updating process, preparing the shortlist of the candidates, preparing the written tests and participating in the interviews. 
  • Leading and managing the MIS team, ensuring that staff are managed, trained, and motivated to meet the objectives of RI in general and specified objectives of the project

Data Protection 

  • Initiating internal systems for responsible processing, storage and use of beneficiary data
  • Ensuring robust Information Security procedures and principles pertaining to relevant data protection and confidentiality aspects (including appropriate data backups), in accordance with RI standards and procedures

Qualifications and requirements:

  • University degree in a relevant field required, including information management systems, computer science, data science or a related degree
  • Minimum 3 year previous experience working with information systems management, monitoring and evaluation, database development and management.
  • Minimum 1 year previous experience working with LogAlto system.
  • At least 4 year work experience with INGO. 
  • Experience implementing or supporting one or more of the following activities: Database management, information systems, accountability systems
  • Strong organization skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow work plans
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong planning, writing and reporting skills
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is esstional
