REPORTING TO: Survey Manager (Aden); Location Manager (Al Turbah)

MAIN DESCRIPTION

The NTS team travels to multiple locations, to identify, analyse and report information on explosive ordnance contamination. Talking to communities and other stakeholders, the aim is to understand the dangers they face from explosives. This information is then recorded and reported, for subsequent use in planning HALO’s mine clearance work. The team will often be the first HALO staff to work in a region, and are therefore relied upon to establish trusted links with communities.

The NTS team is a multi-skilled team, conducting data gathering, survey, referrals, investigations and interviews. Members of this team must be flexible, creative, proactive, and have the ability to engage diverse audiences and communicate sensitively with people of different ages and backgrounds.  If selected for a role, an individual will receive role specific training.

HALO is recruiting to fill all positions within an NTS team. All team members will be required to complete NTS training to a basic standard, with Assistants provided additional in depth medical training. Candidates should clearly state in their application which role they are interested in being considered for. Roles being recruited for in the team are:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The NTS team is responsible for:

• Collecting and recording information on the presence of explosive hazards.
• Conducting community liaison to learn the socio- economic impact of explosive hazards, record beneficiary numbers, and gather evidence and information which will help clearance teams.
• Recording information on victims of accidents caused by explosive hazards and, if desired, supporting them and/or their family members through referral to specialist victim assistance providers.
• Providing appropriate and targeted risk education materials and sessions for local communities to increase awareness and safety.
• Providing medical treatment for HALO personnel injured during operations and stabilizing them for transport to a hospital.
• Conduct data entry and reporting, including filing of reports.

REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL

• Willingness to travel to nearby districts and visit communities affected by landmines and explosive devices.
• High School graduate or higher
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in Arabic.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Flexible individual with a large degree of initiative.
• Effective presentation skills and ability to engage an audience.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of empathy.
• Ability to work effectively with a team in a culturally diverse environment.

DRIVER ONLY:

• Have a valid manual driving license, and be comfortable driving a 4x4 vehicle in both urban and rural areas.

DRIVER ONLY:

• Understand basic mechanical aspects of vehicle maintenance.

TEAM LEADER ONLY:

• Experience leading small teams.

REQUIREMENTS – NON-ESSENTIAL

• Previous experience working for a national or international NGO in a field-based role, including conducting interviews and surveys
• Prior experience working with mobile data collection tools (Survey123 especially)
• Prior experience in mine action
• Basic first aid experience
• Basic map reading skills
• Teaching experience, at any level

الوصف الأساسي

يسافر فريق المسح غير التقني إلى مواقع متعددة لتحديد وتحليل وإبلاغ المعلومات المتعلقة بالمناطق المتلوثه بالذخائر المتفجرة. وعند التواصل والتحدث إلى المجتمعات وأصحاب المصلحة الآخرين ، فإن الهدف هو فهم المخاطر التي يواجهوها من المتفجرات. ثم يتم تسجيل هذه المعلومات والإبلاغ عنها ، لاستخدامها لاحقًا في التخطيط لأعمال إزالة الألغام في هالو. غالبًا ما يكون الفريق هو أول طاقم هالو يعمل في منطقة ما ، وبالتالي يتم الاعتماد عليه لإنشاء روابط موثوقة مع المجتمعات.

الوصف الوظيفي

- مسؤوليات فريق المسح الغير تقني:

- جمع وتسجيل المعلومات عن وجود مخاطر المتفجرات.

- إجراء التواصل مع المجتمع لمعرفة التأثير الاجتماعي والاقتصادي لمخاطر المتفجرات ، وتسجيل أعداد المستفيدين ، وجمع الأدلة والمعلومات التي ستساعد فرق التطهير.

- تسجيل المعلومات عن ضحايا الحوادث الناجمة عن مخاطر المتفجرات ، ودعمهم و/أو أفراد أسرهم ، إذا رغبت في ذلك ، من خلال الإحالة إلى مقدمي مساعدة الضحايا المتخصصين

- توفير ادوات ودورات التوعية بالمخاطر المناسبة للمجتمعات المحلية المستهدفة لزيادة الوعي والسلامة.

- تقديم العلاج الاسعافي لمصابي هالو أثناء العمليات واستقرارهم ليتم نقلهم إلى المستشفى.

- دعم قائد فريق المسح الغير تقني بإدخال البيانات وإعداد التقارير ، بما في ذلك حفظ التقارير.

المتطلبات - الأساسية

- الرغبة في السفر إلى المديريات المجاورة وزيارة القرى المتآثرة بالألغام والأجهزة المتفجرة.

- خريج ثانوية او اعلا

- مهارات تواصل ممتازة (كتابية ولفظية) باللغة العربية

- مهارات تحليلية وتنظيمية قوية ، والاهتمام الدقيق بالتفاصيل

- المرونة بدرجة كبيرة مع المبادرة في العمل

- مهارات في التعليم والتوعية الفعاله والقدرة على اشراك الجمهور.

- معلومات أساسية حول الكمبيوتر

- مهارات شخصية قوية ودرجة عالية من التعاطف

- القدرة على العمل بفعالية مع فريق من بيئات متنوعة ثقافيا.

- خبرة سابقة في العمل مع منظمة غير حكومية وطنية أو دولية في دور ميداني ، بما في ذلك إجراء المقابلات والدراسات الاستطلاعية.

- خبرة سابقة في العمل مع أدوات جمع البيانات المتنقلة (Survey123 خاصة)

- خبرة سابقة في مكافحة الألغام

- خبرة أو مؤهل أساسي في الإسعافات الأولية

- مهارات قراءة الخريطة أساسية

- خبرة في التدريس, على أي مستوى
