The Job

Data Entry Assistant – Hodeida/Bajil

Job Purpose:

Save the Children International (SCI) Yemen Country Programme has an annual budget of around USD 70 million and growing, working mainly on the humanitarian response to the ongoing conflict and its impact including more recently on the cholera outbreak. The SCI Yemen has over 700 staff and 1500 volunteers and works in nine governorates in the north and south of the country through seven field offices and two sub-offices in addition to the main office in Sana’a.
The date entry will Design format for field data collection field report  and enter to internal data base and IMPACT System  to ensure all FSL information is consolidated, with full coordination with FSL Project Officer to ensure capacity building plan is done and implemented.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Needs Analysis and Program Design:

  • Provide data entry support for any FSL related assessments including IPTT Analysis.

Program Implementation:

Beneficiaries Lists Entry

  • Include regular, timely and accurate entry of beneficiaries lists into the database.
  • Alert and follow up with the FSL field team of any missing data in the lists.
  • Archive all program documents as hard and soft copies and reflect the achievements in IPTT and output tracker.
  • Keep track of PRs and Payments and share the tracker on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that the data related to beneficiaries is safe and shared as per Save The Children’s  procedures and policies.
  • Review and re-enter data once verification is complete.

Other data entry

  • Regularly and systematically obtain information of FSL activity achievements.
  • Ensure that the relevant reporting formats (IPTT, narrative) are updated and submitted to the FSL Project Officer on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for the Logs and Finance Tracker, and Movement Plan.
  • Accountable and responsible for data sharing, complying with SCI data protection guidelines and only sharing data as per prior approval of line manager of programme manager.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports including any issues encountered.
  • Support the field team as and when required in tasks including but not limited to registration, distribution, verification, among others.
  • Any other duties as assigned

  • Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.

  • Build and maintain good relationships with partners in the community (children, families, community leaders, service providers such as government authorities and NGOs)
  • Adhere to and promote SCI Code of Conduct, Child Safeguarding Policy and values, both inside and outside of the workplace.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Has excellent experience in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skilled  in English and Arabic typing.
  • Very good at Photoshop and design software.
  • Flexible, adaptable, able to improve and work in stressful and instable environment.
  • Good written English and ability to write good quality reports.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions quickly and independently.
  • Willingness to travel as required within Yemen; willingness to live in remote and isolated environments.
  • Bachelor’s/ diploma degree in IT /Computer science. Or equivalent experience.

Desirable :

  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience on data entry.
  • Minimum 50 word per minute as typing speed.
  • Good in communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Experience in Data analysis.
