Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Location: Bait Al-Fakheeh, Hodeidah.
Reports to: Project Manager.

Organization & Background:
A humanitarian, independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that works across Yemen. The organization provides direct assistance for conflict-affected populations, IDPs, host communities and vulnerable groups in the conflict areas. The organization, in partnership with international agencies, takes action during crisis situations, and goes the extra mile to engage in other contexts where its competencies will add value. The organization promotes durable solutions for conflict-affected populations and helps to restore services, education, economic, wellbeing and health.

Job Purpose:

Implement gynecological and obstetrician procedures, performing any other prior treatment required, during or immediately after a woman has given birth in order to improve women’s reproductive health and to reduce pregnancy, delivery and neonatology risks.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Provides general primary obstetric and gynecological care using generally accepted standards of practice. The physician develops a plan of care for each patient, including complete history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and /or referral, uses all available resources in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner.
•    Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods.
•    Care for women during pregnancy and childbirth.
•    Perform general gynecological and obstetric surgical procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, using both minimally invasive and traditional surgical techniques. 6. Performs colposcopies and LEEPs as office and inpatient procedures as appropriate. 
•    Perform caesarean sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients' health and deliver babies safely.
•    Provide consultations about Reproductive health services (ANC, Delivery, PNC and FP)
•    Keeping updated and adapt the medical treatments as required.
•    Work in close collaborate with Midwifes and nurses to provide a quality medical health care.
•    Document all patient evaluations, treatments, medications and transactions according to YFCA policies and procedures.
•    Compile the daily and weekly data and Report clearly to the project coordinator/Manger in a time respecting the individual patient’s confidentiality.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

•    Essential, Gynaecology specialist academic degree i.e., board...etc.
•    At least 2 years in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. 
•    Strong command of Arabic and English.
•    Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel, internet).
•    Results-oriented, teamwork, flexibility and commitment, and stress management.
