About SDF:

The Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent organization established in March 2015, officially registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs as per license (99). As SDF has been present in Yemen since 2015, it has experience implementing emergency child protection and education responses, including women and youth empowerment. SDF has experience in handling large grants from international donors, such as UNDP, UNHCR, OCHA, WHO, SCI, WFP and ZOA. The Foundation has excellent national-level relations and has experience in coordinating with both national and international NGOs. It has offices, staff and community-based committees in Hajjah, Sana'a, Marib, Ibb, Hudidah, Dhamar, Al-Bayda’a ,Almahweet, Aden and Hadramout as well as solid experiences engaging with local communities from whom it gained acceptance and with whom it has collaborated in the past. In addition to that, SDF creates livelihood opportunities and community-based protection committees. Last but not least, the foundation is mainly focused on Sustainable Development Goals and Humanitarian Response.

Position reporting to: FFA Engineer

Starting Date: ASAP.

Post Date: June16th 2021.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Field Supervisor will be based in the targeted district and reports to the Project Officer of Food for Assets Project. He /She is responsible for coordinating consolidating and ensuring smooth implementation of project interventions in adherence to SDF's program management. He /She will also be representing SDF into all relevant stakeholders' meetings/coordination etc. in the area.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Manage overall project activities at the district level.
  • Summarize, evaluate and update regularly the project per the established planning schedules.
  • Representing SDF at different coordination forums in the area.
  • Write and submit quality narrative reports required from field office to country office as per reporting time frames.
  • Analyze the environment draw conclusions and make recommendations involving a range of inputs to enhance program delivery.
  • Ensure supervisors with regular work plans are developed and implemented accordingly.
  • Liaising with engineering and project management teams to ensure that the project design is accurate before work commences.
  • Ordering and scheduling the delivery of all equipment needed for the project.
  • Acting as the main point of communication between the main field and the office.
  • Managing the work schedules and time cards for all field staff and beneficiaries.
  • Providing leadership to on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties.
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to.
  • Reviewing project progress to ensure that deadlines are met.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a relevant field.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Proven experience supervising field operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant interventions.
