PEOPLE IN NEED (PIN) Yemen:

People in Need (PIN) is an international, non-profit organization providing humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide. Formed in 1992 in the Czech Republic, PIN has grown to be the biggest organization of its kind in eastern Europe, providing relief and development assistance.

People in Need (PIN) has recently finalized registration in Aden, Yemen and will be launching multi-sector humanitarian programs in the south of Yemen in 2022. The Country Program (CP) will start with an initial core team and launching of programmatic activities, with an aim for scale-up in the second half of 2022 - increasing the team, institutional funding, and programmatic footprint.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning assistant supports the program in the development and implementation of monitoring, evaluation (M&E), accountability and learning systems (MEAL). The tasks include routine monitoring of activities, providing monitoring reports, conducting field visits to ensure compliance with established standards and requirements. The MEAL Assistant also carries out all M&E activities related to their specific project and follow up with all feedbacks coming from the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in designing the adequate MEAL plan for the project to conduct and follow up M&E activities, assessments and surveys.
  • Support the design of all required questionnaires and tools for M&E activities, assessments and surveys.
  • Develop electronic formats for assessments and surveys.
  • Weekly and monthly data entry of activities, statistics, and data received from the project activities.
  • Ensure Feedback forms received regularly from the field are entered promptly into the database and ensure proper follow up until case closed.
  • Ensure quality data collection from the field and review the data to identify incomplete and/or inconsistent information.
  • Develop and maintain databases when required.
  • Ensure proper data collection, entry and analysis of projects – including preparation of simple graphs, simple maps or other outputs as required to support the analysis
  • Monitor data quality and keep tracking the progress of projects activities.
  • Lead Pre and post distribution monitoring for projects if any.
  • Maintain a proper electronic and hard archiving system of all related MEAL documents with the assistance of the MEAL assistant.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring to identify challenges and gaps, – ensuring that female and male beneficiaries are both represented and given equitable opportunities to give feedback during the monitoring activities. Present monitoring findings to the program management for corrective actions.
  • Actively participating in conducting baseline assessments, annual project reviews, and final evaluations
  • Systematically and frequently capturing progress, successes and challenges with photo camera and video.
  • Support functionalisation of the Feedback & Complaints Mechanism among partners and beneficiaries and ensuring that an updated Log sheet is shared monthly with the LM.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Program team to share progress, M&E and CFRM findings, and provide recommendations for corrective actions as necessary 
  • Support the preparation of all internal, external and donor reports by providing MEAL data and analysis as required
  • Complies with all PIN security protocols and policies, and immediately reports any security challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • Minimum Bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • At least 1 years of direct experience in MEAL.
  • Good skills and experience with MS Office and internet usage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to make strong relations with community and key persons.
  • Ethical, trustworthy, creative, dynamic, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • INGO experience preferred.
  • English language.
