Job Description

Role

The Data Management Officer is responsible for overview and carrying out data management tasks of project.

Duties

  • Maintain policies and procedures for data entries and collection, secure data with authorized access for the staff, and maintain confidentially of personal data.
  • Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets that meet operational requirements. 
  • Design and establish data collection forms using Word, Excel, Google Sheets, Google Forms, and kobo toolbox.
  • Collect statistical data from the field team on a weekly basis.
  • Compile, aggregate, and prepare data to be fed to iRHIS on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for monthly indicator reporting to Activity Info.
  • Responsible for monthly data input into the Health Cluster reporting system.
  • Responsible for statistical analysis, visualization, reporting, and compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Respond to information requests and provide basic data analysis and findings on a weekly and monthly basis to authorized staff.
  • Responsible for the quality and maintenance of data entry. This includes creating forms with proper validation rules, reviewing, verifying data for accuracy by checking and comparing source documentation, and correcting any inaccurate data.
  • Provide feedback about the data quality and completeness to field teams to improve the overall quality of the data.
  • Support other team members in data management (data extraction, cleaning, and analysis)
  • Collect information elements to generate standardized information products (dashboards, maps, infographics)
  • Maintain proper filing system and storage of documents and ensure the security of all documents whereby only relevant staff have access to needed information.
  • Capacity building and training implementation of field staff.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Education

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer sciences or statistics or any other related field.

Experience

  • At least two years of relevant work experience in non-governmental or humanitarian organizations within the context of an emergency operation.

Skills

  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to (Power Query, Pivot tables, Visualization).
  • Strong skills in other Microsoft applications (Word, Access, Outlook).
  • Strong skills in data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox, Google Forms).
  • Good experience designing interactive dashboards (Power BI or Tableau).
  • Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and increase work hours in the event of emergencies.
  • Strong representational and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills. 
  • Adaptability and flexibility.

Languages

  • Arabic.
  • English.
