Muslim Hands is an international relief and development non-government organization established in 1993. The organization is currently working in 52 countries. Muslim Hands works both directly and with partners to carry out short- and long-term projects in education, health livelihoods, WASH and emergency relief.
This an exciting time to join an international NGO with over 26 years’ experience across 52 countries. Muslim Hands Yemen is undergoing new and positive changes. We are building on the capacity of the office, looking to implement new and innovative projects alongside opening new fundraising channels. This role is seen as pivotal to the long-term000 vision for Muslim Hands Yemen.
Position: Data management Assistant
Reports to: Senior MEAL Officer
Location: Aden – Traveling if needed to other areas of Yemen.
SUMMARY:
This position is under the overall guidance of MEAL Department. S/he will have responsibility to compiling, entering and verifying the data for all MH projects (WASH, health, education and FSL) in Yemen. also be required to analyze the gathered data and assisting in design and develop databases, including developing and overseeing the response of beneficiary complaints and feedback mechanisms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensuring that the data recorded on the data collection forms is entered onto the specific database completely and accurately within time limits.
2. Compiling, entering and verifying accuracy and sorting the data according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry.
3. Reviewing the data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and purging files to eliminate duplication of data and check the output.
4. Identifying any problems with the database and taking appropriate action in discussion with line manager.
5. Editing, cleaning, updating, and compiling periodically received data.
6. Assisting in the establishment project documentation, filing system and archiving.
7. Appling data program techniques and procedures and performing the backup operations.
8. Updating any changes in the project entered data and other information received form field staff under the supervision of the MEAL dep.
9. Analyze data and assisting in design and develop databases.
10. Maintain confidentiality of data including beneficiary’s information
11. Undertake field trips to project sites as required.
12. Any other duties as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, M&E science or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data designing, analysis and developing tools.
3. Ability to work in structured manner and remotely manage individuals.
4. Excellent in excel, KoBoToolbox, APSS and Epi info softwares.
5. Excellent communication skills, including a supportive working style.
6. Good communication skills in English (Written & Spoken)
