Background
The Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) is a nonprofit humanitarian NGO based in the in Aden, Yemen. It was founded in 1995.The SHS provides assistance to refugees and migrants who arrive in Yemen every year. The organization also assists the local community in Yemen. The NGO won the Nansen Refugee Award, dedicated by the UNCHR. SHS has partnerships with UNCHR, OCHA, and WFP
.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: 
Under the direct supervision of filed assistant, the Nutrition assistant under supervision of nutrition officer will perform a wide range of field-based duties related to Nutrition activities including TSFP, OTP and BSFP.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1- Responsible for daily field supervisory visit to the HFs, FDPs, and MCs in the targeted district.
2- Ensuring the nutrition activities in the targeted HFs, MCs and FDPs are run according to the best standards.
3- Ensuring the registers, and report are well updated.
4- Ensuring the MC is performing the activity according to the plan.
5- Conduct on job training for nutrition workers and CHVs during field visit.
6-  Supervise and ensure that all project officers have monthly on-job coaching session plan for each health facility developed and followed.
7-  Work in close collaboration with Community Nutrition Volunteers (CNVs) to conduct registration and verification of BSFP beneficiaries using the standard registration materials.
8- Organize, arrange and supervise the distribution of BSFP commodities to the beneficiaries in the right entitlements as per the laid down protocols.
9- Follow up to ensure that all reports at field level are accurately prepared and submitted to the nutrition officer on a timely basis.
10- Conduct frequent field visits to the targeted locations and provide a report with the outcome of the visits.
11- Maintain proper filing systems and storage of all project documents, reports and other relevant technical materials (both hard and soft copies).
12- Perform any other related duties as requested by direct line supervisor.
13- report any problems in a timely manner to nutrition officer.


Qualifications and requirements

  • Qualification in nutrition, public health, or any related field.
  • Training on CMAM and BSFP.
  • Minimum of 1 years working experience in NGOs
  • Minimum of one years of work experience in CMAM project, 
  • Should have adequate competence in communication.
  • Familiarity with administrative duties.
  • Organization skills, with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks
  • Should be well-versed in computer applications such as MS Word and MS Excel


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  Nutrition workers in the HFs and CHVs in the FDPs.
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:  Nutrition officer  
WORKS DIRECTLY WITH:  Field staff, Community Volunteers
