About SDF:

The Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent organization established in March 2015, officially registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs as per license (99). As SDF has been present in Yemen since 2015, it has experience implementing emergency child protection and education responses, including women and youth empowerment. SDF has experience in handling large grants from international donors, such as UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, OCHA, WHO, SCI and ZOA. The Foundation has excellent national-level relations and has experience in coordinating with both national and international NGOs. It has offices, staff and community-based committees in Hajjah, Sana'a, Marib, Ibb, Hudidah, Dhamar, Almahweet, Al-Bayda’a, and Hadramout as well as solid experiences engaging with local communities from whom it gained acceptance and with whom it has collaborated in the past. In addition to that, SDF creates livelihood opportunities and community-based protection committees. Last but not least, the foundation is mainly focused on Sustainable Development Goals and Humanitarian Response.

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out FFA activities that target local and conflict-affected communities as per program planning, instruction provided and in line with SDF's policies, procedures, guidelines and agreed standards, ensuring proper recording and traceability of the activities carried out.
  • Overall technical support necessary for the delivery of FFA project – designing, planning and costing inputs (labor, finance, and materials), technical assistance and capacity-building support to SDF's staff, site supervisors and group leaders to produce outputs; coordination of day-to-day activities;
  • Support SDF's staff to sensitize the targeted communities, mobilize and organize eligible beneficiary households to participate in the project activities, including enlisting and reporting the eligible beneficiaries to SDF.
  • To work with other team members to develop clear, realistic and achievable work plans for carrying out FFA activities as per the predefined guidelines and instructions.
  • To participate in follow-up and monitoring of the progress of the FFA activities implementation in the targeted areas, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Compilation of quality situational reports received from SDF staff and site supervisors, doing the necessary review of reports submitted before sharing with the Project Manager.
  • To extend full-length support and participate in the implementation of Food for Assets (FFA) activities.
  • Work closely with field coordinators and site supervisors to ensure that the program is implemented in line with SDF's policy, code of conduct and agreed standards (as per approved project plans).
  • To facilitate and collaborate with the MEAL team to ensure that baseline and end-line surveys, onsite monitoring, and PDM are carried out in an appropriate and timely manner and that complaint and feedback mechanisms are in place.
  • To participate in beneficiary data collection for doing FFA assessments and ensure that qualitative, quantitative and accurate data is collected to better inform the reports.
  • To ensure that data collected are properly disaggregated for gender analysis, encourage mainstreaming of gender into food for assets programming by increasing knowledge of the partner, community structures and beneficiary communities through training/ awareness-raising sessions and incorporating gender data in program monitoring and design.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in a relevant field (humanitarian assistance and/ or development, economics and management, political and social studies with a management focus).
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a relevant senior position
  • A minimum of three (3) years of field experience with NGOs

  • Remarkable intercultural skills.
  • Knowledge of donor’s policies, guidelines, and requirements.
  • Ability to work under work and time pressure
  • Proactively support the Team Lead and find a suitable solution for any challenges or restrictions faced.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic mandatory (Spoken and written)
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Package.
