MSIY offers maternal and child healthcare (including pre- and post-natal care, and basic emergency obstetric and new-born care (BEmONC) safe delivery; and general health care) through a variety of different channels including private clinics, public sector support, community midwives and toll-free contact centre. MSIY also provides emergency medicines to vulnerable Yemenis.

This role has a particular focus on ensuring that Midwives support channel activities are well coordinated, that team outputs are of a high standard and meet the demands of internal and external stakeholders and are used to improve programming.
Able to sustain a close and collaborative partnership with operational staff in the Regional Office and field, so that project deliverables remain a focus of operational activities. This post holder will be able to work productively with all MSIY components (Operations, Midwives Channels, Outreach and quality teams, others) to ensure that program activities serve the objectives of MSIY.

Working under the supervision of the regional manager, the Midwives Network officer will support the administrative, financial, and reporting processes that take place between the Midwives, DHO supervisors and headquarter. This position is an important link between the manager and the administrative and financial units.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for Quality Assessors plans and activities to ensure Midwives are providing safe and high-quality services to clients.
  • Assist in developing the SF annual Plan. 
  • Assure high quality service delivery from the Midwives in line with the quality Assessors and MDT plans.
  • Aid in the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting process with the functional areas.
  • Conduct supportive supervision visits in line with Midwife Channel supervisors such that each service provider is visited a minimum of once in 6 weeks.
  • Monitoring and improving standards of good practices, safety, infection prevention, service provision and client care.
  • Identify skills gaps, training need assessment and provide on the job training and support constant quality improvement in the franchise clinic.
  • Follow up post supportive visit, competency assessment and audit action plans and manage according to needs.
  • Assist to manage and monitor the procurement and distribution of products and equipment to midwives involved the network.
  • Receive all quality reports and prepare the final monthly reports with analysis and feedback on impact and success model. 
  • Contribute to regular skills development workshops for the Midwives in the field.
  • Maintain an overview of Midwives channel capacity building initiatives and workshops throughout the region.
  • Assist to manage clinical complication, report to Social Franchising Manager and MDT according to protocol and ensure proper documentation.
  • Intervene with low performing Midwives to improve quality of services. 

Certificate, Skills, Attitudes and Attributes: -

  • A Nurse Midwife / 3 Years Midwifery diploma / GP Doctor.
  • Strong working knowledge of business practices in the country.
  • Collaborative approach to team working.
  • English is compulsory. 
  • Strong personal commitment to the goals of MSI and to put it into practice.
  • Good interpersonal / communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Computer proficiency

Demand generation:

 

  • Oversee the Midwives channel demand strategy.
  • Promptly update Midwives channel Regional Manager on any issues or need to update and /or coordinate with the MoPH+P. 
  • Ensure consistent FP and MSI messages are being used across the Midwives clinics; keep branding in good condition and remove branding from disfranchised locations.

Monitoring + Evaluation: 

  • Assist to ensure complete, quality, and timely reporting of the network activities (monthly service statistics, monthly narratives).
  • Give feedback to supervisors each month based on their reported activities and actively encourage and support improvement.
  • Assist to ensure complete records are kept of all Midwives services, competency assessment and audits activities.
  • Assist to ensure full automation of data input and collection via mobile application
