Economic Security Generalist 2 (FSL Officer)

Purpose
Economic Security Generalist 2 plans, implements and monitors the ICRC’s economic security (EcoSec) program activities in line with the country strategy and under the supervision and guidance of their hierarchical superior.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Contributes to preparation and planning of field interventions, assessment trips, organizes meetings with interlocutors and ensures timely reporting. Carries out regular field visits and on-site aid distributions.
- Contributes to designing and implementing voucher, fair, food/cash-for-work, cash transfer, livelihood, and microeconomic Initiative programs.
- Contributes to identifying response options based on an analysis of EcoSec core components (food consumption/production, living conditions, income support and capacity-building, etc.).
- Contributes to developing methods, plans, implementation, logistics and reporting for aid distribution.
- In absence of the Team Leader, supervises field team’s activities on-site.
- Maintains good coordination and working relationship with the Yemeni Red Crescent Society volunteers engaged in joint activities with the ICRC.
- Analyses strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis) to identify possible response options.
- Collects data, using methods that are in line with the household economy approach and applies data-collection tools and devices.
- Contributes to designing a good method for registering beneficiaries, verifies and updates beneficiaries’ lists.
- Monitors activities, implementation of projects and reports on the process accordingly.
- Enters data into and maintains the survey database and the EcoSec Programme Management Tool when requested.
- Performs mid-level qualitative and quantitative data analysis; describes results and produces data visualizations.
- Collects and analyses market price data.
- Collects nutrition information at the household level; uses their basic understanding of malnutrition to identify vulnerabilities and nutritional shortcomings.
- Contributes to internal reporting; translates documents for internal use and interprets upon request.
Certifications/Professional Experience Required
- High school diploma, technical education or professional or University degree in Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies, Sociology, Animal Production, Veterinary Science, or related fields (degree in Agriculture and/or Economics is a strong advantage for this position).
- Good command (spoken and written) of English.
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar field of activity.
