Job Description

Term of References

  • Title: Data Entry Clerks
  • Location: Hajjah Office
  • Length of Assignment: 10 days per month (TBC based on revised work plan)

Assignment Purpose: 

The data entry will be responsible for entering the data gathered by the SQUEAC survey team, managing and sorting out the data, prepare the needed tools for the field team, design and prepare the needed databases, preparing and submitting the necessary reports on data entry to line manager/supervisor

Activities

  • Review uncompleted forms.
  • Design and prepare the needed databases
  • Data entry and storage on daily bases
  • Managing and sorting out the data
  • Prepare the needed tools for the field team
  • Ensure data accuracy.
  • Daily database backup.
  • Secure and protect database and respect the principle of data confidentiality 
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Archiving both electronic and paper tools and databases
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies
  • Ensure proper use of office equipment
  • Summarizing and compiling data for standardized reports
  • Provide the necessary support to direct supervisor.
  • Raise any observations to direct supervisor.
  • Commitment to the instructions and directives of direct supervisor
  • Perform any other tasks required

Objectives and Outputs:    

Finalize data entry accurately, storage to database and archived

Essential Competencies:

  • High School /Diploma degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field two years’ experience in data entry and management. Preferably in Humanitarian NGOs
  • Experience working with NGOs is preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in data collection tools (Kobo Collect – ODK – ONA) is an asset
  • Good in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience in health and nutrition (CMAM) sector data
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to think independently and problem solve.
  • Honest, hardworking and committed to community development.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and respect line management.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and structured way of approaching task.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.

Desirable

  • Able to ensure quick quality delivery in stressful environment.
  • Good experience of undertaking a Nutritional related role in a humanitarian context
  • Experience in CMAM projects
