Job Title : Nutrition Project Manager
Status:  Full-time – Roving  (Al-Hodeida -Raymah)
Location: Al-Hodadah, Yemen

ADO Overview

 Abs Development Organization for woman and Child (ADO) is a well-established national, humanitarian, developmental, non-profitable and non-governmental organization, founded in August1996 by a group of Yemeni girls to provide a better standard of living for woman, Child and youth in Yemen. ADO has been operating in Yemen for more than 25 years with an excellent presence in the deprived rural areas located on the coast of Tehama and various areas in Yemen to get rid of poverty and infectious diseases. Since its inception, it has implemented over 120 development and humanitarian interventions in 10 out of the 22 governorates of Yemen benefiting over 6, 400,000 people. As a result, the organization has established itself among the most effective civil society organizations in Yemen that are working on issues related livelihood, health, education, and WASH in support of women, children, and youth. Operating out of its Headquarter office in Sana’a and its offices in Hodiedah, Hajjah, Abs, Raymah Taiz and Aden, ADO, provides critical educational, health, livelihood and WASH services to urban and rural communities. ADO believes that a woman is the essence of life, therefore it has devoted all its activities and programs to empower and educate a woman, because the educated and empowered woman will lead to an educated family in which empowered family will ensure a developed society leading to a civil state, good governance and conscious civil society out of oppression. ADO believes that youth are a miraculous energy. If they are enabled, they will build a civil state and good governance, as well as ADO believes that protecting and caring for children will result a beautiful future and free from crime and terrorism.

Job objectives/ Scop    

The project Manager will be responsible for all Nutritional   activities BSFP, TSFP, CMAM. He/she will be responsible for providing technical leadership, M&E management, budget management, and the day-to-day management of the projects activities, including recruitment and reporting (CPDR,FRN, Performance weekly ,monthly). The Project Manager will be based in AL-Hodeida with frequent travels to (Raymah ,)). The project manager will be responsible for liaison and coordination with the appropriate government authorities, donor and other agencies of interest. The project manager will be supervised by programs manager and will work closely with other operation team

Duties and Responsibilities and wight:

1Planning, implement, monitor and evaluate of planned objectives to be achieved as indicated in the project description.
2Prepare detailed plans for field work, recruitment, procurement, finance and follow-up.
3Follow up the employment of the work team in coordination with the Director of Programs and  the General Director and operations Manager  to maintain and update employee files.
4Launch the project and reviewing it with the work team.
5Monitor and evaluate the achievement of his team on a monthly basis
6Ensure effective financial management of the project in accordance with the organization's policies and donor regulations.
7Approve all purchases, contracts and allocations for budgetary items.
8Ensure the flow of information and data from the field to senior management.
9Direct and train the team  in carrying out their important, or urgent tasks and solve  work problems.
10Process information and data in a timely manner and training work teams on data analysis
11Provide qualitative reports on project activities, including impacts and changes achieved at the level of beneficiaries through the project.
12Apply results-based management methodology, monitor project results, outputs and activities, including changes to the household and community levels that have been achieved through the project.
13Prepare the monthly achievement report and submitting it to the Director of Programs and Projects.
14Prepare achievement reports for official and donor agencies that request interim and final reports: Preparing interim and final qualitative reports for donors in a timely manner, considering the achievements made against results and outputs, adding pictures, clearly dropping lessons learned in recommendations in order to benefit from them in future projects Send these reports to the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and Program and Projects Director.

21Submit all Kind of reposts as requested by the donor
Prepare a plan for distributing food commodities TSFP&BSFP.
Submit the monthly program for testing، awareness، and CMAM.
22Provide technical guidance on the overall strategy for project design and management.
23Ensure that all project activities and trainings are both in line with global standards and fully coordinated with local authority.
24Conduct and provide technical support on Nutrition   assessments
25Actively represent ADO by attending cluster/coordination meetings relevant to the project activities.
26Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organizations Code of Conduct, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to internal and external actors
27In cooperation with HR Manager, hire and supervise staff to ensure their smooth and effective operations.
28Assist in the selection and training of qualified program staff and recommend promotions, disciplinary action and termination of staff in consultation with the HR and Finance.
29Ensure compliance to local labor laws including working hours.
30Maintain open lines of communications with all field staff.
31Determine training needs for subordinate staff.
32Train staff to increase their responsibilities in order to build capacity and ensure sustainability of programs.
33Conducts staff evaluations and advocates and plans for professional development for all subordinate staff 
34Works with Logistics staff to ensure the coordination of project supplies are within budgeted targets.
35Attends coordination meetings, which are relevant to country activities.
36Interfaces with national government and relevant agencies as necessary
37Ensures application and compliance of security protocols and policies.
38Managing and supervising project team members (employees and volunteers).
39Supervise the day-to-day Nutrition staff to ensure smooth and effective operations.

Experience and Qualifications    

  • Project management with high qualification in Nutrition  (preferred), a Medical doctor, Filmier with nutrition Programs , Nutrition in Humanitarian Action,. 
  • At least 3to 5 years of experience working as Nutrition project manager preferably with I/NGOs with sound knowledge and experience of work in /Nutrition interventions.
  • Familiarity with International humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors and other NGOs.
  • Experience leading complex on site emergency response projects and/or programs requiring extensive judgment and interpretation. Diverse geographical professional experience preferred. 
  • Prefer to be able to communicate and develop linkages with NGOs & INGOs, Government agencies, local communities.

Skills / Knowledge     

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions with limited supervision.
  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
  • Ability to relate to and motivate local staff effectively.

Working Conditions

  •  Due to nature of activates and areas where we operate, work might entail difficult working/travel/accommodation conditions. Able to work on a computer and operate a keyboard, for extended periods of time.  Able to work out of office location, at times at odd hours. Extensive field travel to the target areas required.

Previous Training     

  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Office programs including full working knowledge of standard word processing, spreadsheet and presentation packages; knowledge of fisheries statistical & scientific software.
