As part of the transformation, we are looking for talented Data Analyst (but not only, see other job postings) to join our newly formed Data & Analytics unit. Data is more than stats to our Data & Analytics team—it’s a story waiting to be told. You will be a key Member of the team that translate raw data into relevant and meaningful insights by using visualization and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI. You’re also a subject matter expert who enables bank business and support units to monitor business drivers and key performance indicators. Your responsibilities include designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and transforming data, and enabling advanced analytic capabilities that provide meaningful business value. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with business team to document the business requirements, anticipated benefits, success criteria for analytics initiatives.
  • Eagerness to learn about both the science and the business and identify opportunities to solve problems with data
  • Work with data engineer and IT team to determine and locate appropriate data sources that meet stakeholder requirements
  • Ingest, profile, clean and transform data from various data sources (structured and unstructured data)
  • Design and build scalable and effective data models to monitor business drivers and key performance indicators for different subject areas (cards, loans, deposits, investments, FX, etc.) and segments.
  • Bring data to life by designing and creating powerful reports that tell a compelling story, to enable business decision makers to quickly gain needed insights
  • Use advanced analytics capabilities to find insights, identify patterns and trends, predict outcomes, and then communicate those insights in a way that everyone can understand.
  • Management of Business Intelligence assets, including reports, dashboards, and the underlying datasets that are used in the reports
  • Work with the data engineer to identify new processes or improve existing processes for collecting data for analysis, data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics.
  • Preparation of technical documentation (vision of data product, data sources schema, data model and metric definitions); to ensure adequate data lineage, governance and compliance with information, security and other relevant policies.
  • Educate and empower business users at the bank to be more self-reliant for their data needs by creating reusable assets, including reports templates, and shared datasets and developing training content to enhance the Date Culture and Data Literacy. 

Knowledge Areas

  • Well-rounded experience in the whole data analysis process: requirements gathering, identify KPIs, data preparation, data modeling, developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards; in financial services, customer analytics, or similar domains.
  • Fluency and practical experience with data visualization techniques, storytelling, and best practices, with deep skill in at least one visualization tool, ideally Power BI
  • Experience developing mobile dashboards and embedding dashboards in web applications
  • Experience querying databases of different vendors like, oracle, Microsoft, IBM DB2 etc. 
  • Sound knowledge of statistics, data profiling, data quality measurement and cleaning.
  • In-depth understanding of data warehouse design, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL framework
  • Python experience including familiarity with pandas, and visualization libraries such as Altair, seaborn or matplotlib is a plus
  • Experience with statistical methods like exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, is a plus
  • Some exposure to Power Apps and Power Automate development is advantageous
  • Experience of using code repository and version control software (e.g. Github, BitBucket, TFS, etc.)
  • Awareness of DevOps and CI/CD principles.
  • Good awareness of Big Data systems and cloud technologies, particularly Azure.

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in a data-driven role
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience on Power BI.
  • Experience working with banking data is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Finance, Statistics or other relevant disciplines

Certification

  • Data Analyst Certifications will be added advantage (e.g. Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP), Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) … etc.) 
  • Data related certifications on Azure or AWS will be good

  • Data APIs (Level 4): Interacting with data APIs is an essential skill for any data analyst. These days, the majority of tools and platforms have restful APIs—and you'll need to be able to interact with these services to build solutions.
  • Business/Domain Expertise (Level 3): Is able to fully understand the bank's business process in the various domains and to design related products. As a Data analyst you should be familiar with Financial Services data to deliver relevant and meaningful insights.
