About SOUL

SOUL for Development is a national NGO, founded in February 1997 by a group of Yemeni professionals out of their desire to achieve a higher quality of life for Yemeni women and children. Since its inception, it has implemented over 80 development interventions in 18 out of the 22 governorates of Yemen benefiting over 5, 500,000 people. As a result, the organization has established itself among the most effective civil society organizations in Yemen that are working on issues related to health, education, and WASH in support of women, children, and youth. Operating out of its Headquarters in Sana’a and its offices in Taiz and Aden, SOUL, provides critical educational, health, and WASH services to urban and rural communities.

Job Title:  Technical Assistant (2)

Location: Hadhrmout (Valley (1) and Coastal (1))

Contract Type: Full Time.

Contract Duration: 6 Months.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in coordinating with the relevant local authorities to secure the needed clearances.
• Ensure quality assurances through all sub-projects’ implementation.
• Supervise and mentor the sub-projects supervisors.
• Conducting site visits, monitoring schedules, and supervising technicians.
• Running field operations, offering technical support, and troubleshooting on-site issues.
• Ensuring on-site efficiency and safety at all times.
• Estimating costs, approving project designs, and preparing contracts.
• Analysing data, monitoring expenditure, and drafting progress reports.
• Overseeing equipment testing, maintenance, installation, and planning.
• Mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, and evaluating environmental impact.
• Directing staff, contractors, engineers, and other on-site personnel.
• Meeting with clients and stakeholders.
• Drafting and submitting reports to superiors and other key individuals.
• Represent SOUL in cluster meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A university degree in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Power engineering
• A minimum of two - years of professional experience.
