Direct reports:  Data Entry Staff /Health facility based 
Reference:  HR22-44      ‎
Duration: From September 1, 2022 till August 31, 2023; Renewable based on fund availability    and performance.

Note: Position is open for Yemeni Nationals only.

II.    Position Summary

Design the format/system for field data collection and ensure all health information collected from supported health facilities is consolidated and represented in the program database to facilitate analysis and learning. Monitor the progress of the program against the set indicator targets. Facilitate all Human resources related activities for supported health facility staff, with full coordination of the Program officers to ensure capacity building plan is developed and implemented.
The DMO reports to the IKM coordinator with dotted reporting to the Program manager.

III.    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data management: 

  • Work closely with the Project Manager and IKM Coordinator in ensuring appropriate, timely and early deployment of project data tools  for program start-up activities according to developed   detailed implementation plans.
  • Ensure timely field data collection and entry into the program database.
  • Perform data analysis and produce reports in various formats including graphs, charts etc. as required weekly, monthly and quarterly with submission to the program manager. 
  • Perform data cleaning on a daily basis. Ensure data quality
  • Provide additional updates and data analysis as required
  • Establishing and ensuring smooth and regular data retrieval mechanisms
  • Support in establishing procedures for identifying problems and inconsistencies in overall data management.
  • Entering, updating and analyzing routine data for research projects ensuring completeness and quality.
  • Working closely with IKM coordinator for the establishment of IPTT, Indicator Definition sheets, custom forms and all required monthly reports. 
  • Supporting IKM Coordinator in the Implementation of Internal Data Quality Audit.

Capacity Building 

  • Responsible for  training the supported health facility staff in information system formats and making  sure that all concerned staff at the health facility have a good knowledge and  understanding of the reporting system.
  • Train RI field officers and supported health facility staff on data management 

Coordination/ Data management Support 

  • Working effectively as a team member with the field team to improve the quality of the health data.
  • Troubleshoot data submission errors and data error issues.
  • Support the design and validation of data collection tools (forms, questionnaires, etc.) and related data analysis plans.
  • Coordinate with supported Health facility staff and check all information/data reported with field staff to ensure accuracy and validity.  
  • Support Program field staff to identify common mistakes in the reports and provide corrective measure. 
  • Provide technical assistance to field officers and the supported health facility staff on data collection and reporting.

  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

  • Position Reports to:  IKM  Coordinator 
  • Position directly supervises:  Data Entry Clerk / health facility based  
  • Indirect Reporting: Program Manger
  • Other Internal and/or external contacts: MEAL Officers, Project coordinators
  • Internal: N/A
  • External:  Supported health facility staff/Community Health Volunteers

IV.    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University degree/ Diploma in Information Technology, Administration or related technical field
  • Previous experience with similar projects
  • Excellent in communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and excellent sense of organization
  • Committed, responsible and ability to learn 
  • Office Suite excel and Word 
  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations.
