  • Duration: 3 Months Renewable according to budget & performance

BFD is a leading humanitarian-based and development-oriented organization, which over the years extended its coverage to several governorates, with a mission of working in a humane and transparent manner for the vulnerable groups in society and the affected groups through the implementation of sustainable development and relief programs of the highest quality.  Responding to all areas of humanitarian sectors, BFD aspires to provide an integrated humanitarian and development response to conflict-affected areas through a professional, neutral, transparent approach, and through adherence to the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS).

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE:
Under overall supervision of District M&E Assistant. The community mobilizer will be responsible for follow up the implementation of project activities in the targeted district. The community mobilizer will represent the project in the targeted district and be in charge of all coordination with project partners and stakeholders. Also, handling all the complaints and issues related to the implementation of activities and settling disputes in the targeted district, if happened.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Entry and Assistance:

  • Facilitate meeting the local authorities and beneficiaries.
  • Assist in the overall implementation the program.
  • Assist in the identification of communities in the targeted Governorates.
  • Conducting surveys, assessments, and FGDs.
  • Provide support to the team in planning for orientation, implementation, and training activities in the target areas.
  • Organize and facilitate capacity-building interventions of FFT Program.
  • Ensure the FFA Workers/FFT Trainers are working following the norms of the BFD.
  • Promote and install a sense of ownership among the beneficiaries through community engagement activities, or design appropriate activities for the enhanced beneficiaries’ involvement.
  • Coordinate and establish a network for the social mobilization, when required and as deemed necessary.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders’ level to avoid duplication.
  • Ensure the safety of the team field visit and Cash distribution points by coordinate with responsible people.
  • Handling complaints and issues related to the implementation of activities and settling disputes.
  • Attend meetings with partners and stakeholders in the targeted communities.
  • Maintain and prepare photos and reports on all sessions, meetings and site visits
  • Participate and engage in any trainings and meetings as requested by supervisor. 
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
  • the field teams to determine the operational needs of the emergency health and nutrition interventions

  • The post holder must at all times carry out his responsibilities with due regard to the BFD policy, organization and arrangements for Health and Safety at Work.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Social Science, Business or related field.
  • A minimum of 1 years work experience in the field and working with local communities.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Applications.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian situation, particularly related to food insecurity in each targeted district.
  • Strong knowledge of the assigned districts and rural communities, with flexibility to travel locally to follow-up on implementation.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • A sense of creativity is essential.
  • Demonstrated attention to activity tracking detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
  • Talent for organizing and cataloging information is essential.
  • Conscientious, with an excellent sense of judgment.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to ensure quality delivery in a stressful environment, punctuality, and respect for rules and procedures, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and building positive relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact well with people and proven experience of building strong relationships with community members 
  • A confident, flexible, and initiative-taking attitude with the ability to work independently, to be proactive in working with others, a willingness and commitment to work long hours and/or over weekends, and to spend a considerable amount of time in remote field sites.
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding, child safety, and protection from sexual abuse and exploitation principles.

Core Humanitarian Standards (CHs): The BFD workers must adhere to Humanitarian standards the values and principles outlined in BFD policy - Standards for Professional Conduct. These are Integrity, Service, Accountability and Equity. In accordance with these values, the BFD Employee and enforces policies on Code of Conduct from Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity Anti-Retaliation
