Location: Adhala'a - Ibb Hub (Yemen)
Duration: 10 months
Job Summary
we seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database and Information Management Assistant for the CCCM project in Yemen. The Database and Information Management Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient data management, information sharing, and reporting within the project. including compile field level information required to produce weekly and biweekly progress updates, monthly Situation Reports donor appeals, and updates related to the humanitarian assistance in the country following the standard reporting format/scheme, quarterly indicator reports, bi-annual, annual reports and other narrative reports as assigned by the relevant departments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the humanitarian response efforts in Yemen and work closely with stakeholders and partners to achieve project objectives.
Key RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Database Management:
- Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive database system to store and manage project-related data, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Regularly update and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct data cleaning, verification, and quality control procedures.
- Generate reports, queries, and statistical analyses as required.
- Provide technical support and training on database usage to project staff.
- Compile field-level information required to produce weekly and biweekly progress updates, monthly Situation Reports, donor appeals, and updates related to humanitarian assistance.
- Collect, analyze, and compile relevant data and information from project teams and partners for reporting purposes.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of service and needs-related information for each site
- Draft weekly situation reports and provide other relevant information on site conditions and services.
2. Information Management:
- Collect, collate, and organize information from various sources related to CCCM activities, including assessment reports, site profiles, and beneficiary data.
- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information to relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development and maintenance of information management tools and systems, including data collection forms and templates.
- Assist in the analysis and interpretation of data for reporting and decision-making purposes.
- Monitor data trends and identify areas for improvement or action.
3. Reporting and Documentation:
- Assist in the preparation of regular reports, including situation updates, progress reports, and donor reports, in collaboration with the Reporting and Coordinator Officer.
- Ensure that all relevant project information and documentation are properly organized and archived.
- Ensure the timely registration of IDPs, including identification of protection-related needs.
- Support the translation of data and information into visually appealing and easy-to-understand formats, such as charts, graphs, and infographics.
- Contribute to the development of project communication materials.
4. Capacity Building and Coordination:
- Provide training and technical assistance to project staff and partners on database management and information sharing.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and information exchange.
- Participate in project meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
- Assist in the coordination of data collection activities and ensure the timely submission of required data and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Database Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in database management, information management, or a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge and experience in database design, development, and administration.
4. Proficiency in database management systems, such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
5. Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting using tools like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
6. Familiarity with information management principles and best practices.
7. Experience in the humanitarian or development sector is desirable.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
11. Experience in graphic design is an advantage
12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
13. Strong organizational and time management skills.
