Background
Jeel Albena Association for Humanitarian Development known as (JAAHD) is a National and Non-Governmental Association emerged in wake of the humanitarian crisis to help communities affected by conflict in Yemen. It provides emergency relief and direct assistance for the conflict-affected populations, IDPs, host communities, vulnerable groups and those people caught up in extraordinary life-threatening situations. JAAHD has a presence in Al Hudaydah, Hajjah, Almahweet & Raymah with the aim of building up protection capacities for people in displacement and finding durable solutions for them upon return.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Reporting Officer will dedicate 100% of his/her time analyzing data, drafting and preparing regular and adhoc reports. The Reporting Officer’s primary role is gathering data, reviewing and analyzing data, and drafting qualitative and quantitative reports, as well as capacitating staff and ensuring the optimal flow of shelter information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaise closely with the shelter and NFIs team to gather accurate data.
- Write weekly, monthly, mid-year, and final year performance reports.
- Support in drafting documents, lessons learned, best practices, case studies as shared by the project team or as captured during field visits.
- Supports the project staff in drafting external and internal reports, including donor reports.
- Work closely with Information Management, where applicable, to ensure accurate and effective data presentation, graphics and maps.
- Compile, consolidate, and analyze data on the project’s implementation and indicators.
- Gather and evaluate relevant data for reports.
- Oversee data lifecycle: organizing, sharing, collecting, validating, archiving, storing & reporting.
- Maintain proper documentation and archiving project records in both soft and hard copies.
- Train field staff and colleagues on reporting and data analysis.
- In close coordination with the project team, produce regular, high quality cluster updates, sitreps and briefs as required which are appropriate to target audiences, and ensure timely dissemination of products.
- Support in drafting, reviewing, and producing shelter minutes of meetings, biweekly and monthly updates, fact sheets, and relevant surveys such as the PDMs, shelter performance survey, and other surveys, products and reports related to shelter and NFIs activities.
- Contribute technical inputs for the design and development of Shelter and NFIs project monitoring and reporting methodologies.
- Conduct oral and written translation duly (Arabic to English and vice versa) whenever required.
- Facilitate the integration and inclusion of Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s cross cutting issues (e.g Gender, Protection, GBV risk mitigation, Environment) in the methodologies and developed tools, and in all key information products related to the shelter and NFIs project.
- Always ensure confidentiality and conduct all activities respectfully and sensitively to beneficiaries and staff.
- Perform any other related activities as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- University degree in social sciences or any other relevant field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience working in reporting with INGOs / NGOs, if for shelter-related programming this will be considered as an asset.
- Knowledge Shelter/NFIs and CCCM Projects.
- Familiarity with smart data collection and KoBo/ODK tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to use Microsoft package (MS Office) especially excel.
- Demonstrated familiarity with basic protection principles and confidentiality.
- Initiative and has the ability to plan, organize, follow-up and archive.
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Enthusiasm and genuine interest in the work of INGO.
- Ability to work in a team spirit.
- Readiness to commit and adhere to the values, mission and vision of JAAHD.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills, observation and analysis capacity.
