The Job

International Translation Services Bureau is seeking interpreters (Arabic-to-English/English-to-Arabic. French to Arabic/ Arabic-to-French, German to Arabic/ Arabic-to-German, Italy to Arabic/ Arabic-to-Italy, Turkey to Arabic/ Arabic-to-Turkey. 

ITSB provides services in most governorates. 

We seek interpreters who will ensure the high standards of  performance. 

Job tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Translating  Arabic/ English meetings, on economic, political, security, humanitarian, civil society and other issues relating to Yemen and the region. 
• Providing simultaneous interpretation from a booth to approved standards from Arabic to English and vice versa. The interpreter will work under the guidance of ITSB management.
• Would be responsible for consecutive translation at the meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars 
• Translator/Interpreter may be required to provide whispered or consecutive interpreting services outside plenary sessions as well as may occasionally be required to provide escort interpretation services in consecutive or whispered modes for dignitaries or experts.

Required Skills and Experience

• BA Degree in English language and literature and/or Court Interpreter Certificate for English language
• Proven hands-on extensive experience; background knowledge and experience interpreting development work is highly preferable; prior experience translating for the United Nations or any of its agencies is an advantage.
• Mastery of Zoom software for interpreters
• Proven experience in professional translation and interpreting Arabic-English and English-Arabic is required. Experience in the financial sector in Yemen is a plus.
• Experience in interpretation with financial institutions and mastering financial terminology
• The ability to reproduce accurately and concisely what was said in the specified language(s).
• The ability to perform simultaneous translation for long and consecutive hours
• Perfect command of Arabic and English 
• Proven experience in professional interpreting Arabic-English and English-Arabic is required. Experience in the financial sector in Yemen is a plus.
