Position in the Organization

Mehad mission

Mehad is a French and international health and solidarity NGO established in 2011 by a group of doctors to address the urgent healthcare needs of populations affected by the war in Syria and neighboring countries. In 2022, Mehad expanded to Ukraine in response to the Ukraine war. Recently, Mehad has included Palestine and Yemen in its areas of intervention.

In early 2024, Mehad conducted an exploratory mission to southern Yemen to assess the humanitarian situation, particularly the health system's needs and potential contributions to strengthening it. Based on the findings of this mission, Mehad will move from assessment to implementation by supporting a health project in Abyan Governorate, as a first project. This project aims to enhance the resilience and stability of the people in northern Abyan by improving their access to quality healthcare services. Mehad aims to develop new activities in the future according to medical needs assessment, in collaboration with MoPIC and MoH. 

Position summary

Under the direct management of the Medical Activities Manager, the Medical Training Manager (MTM) is responsible for organizing and implementing the training activities and applying related tools within the mission, according to Mehad’s standards and procedures in order to improve people’s capacities and skills in effectively achieving the mission’s goals.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate the logistics and administrative activities needed for training activities, including distribution materials, equipment requests, transport arrangements, obtaining the material approval of other partners …
  • Participate in educational design with respect to Mehad’s guidelines, including analysis of needs, training activities conceptions, resources development
  • Translate all documentation and resources in Arabic
  • Implement the training activities by supervising and leading both provider and instructor courses
  • Ensure recruitment, training and assessment of trainers
  • Ensure respect of assessment quality, guaranteeing reliable certification of trainees
  • Assess on-site the performance of certified trainees by regular visits, assuring mentoring during the visits
  • Ensure completion of all training program evaluation activities, including trainees and trainers feedback
  • In coordination with Communication team, promote and advertise the training programs in the area of interest
  • Under supervision of MAM and Medical Coordinator, update training resources according to evolution of healthcare standards
  • Carry out supply management (orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, consumption, etc.) in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
  • In coordination with MAM and Medical Coordinator, identify evolution of training needs and suggest appropriate adaptation of existent training program or development of new ones
  • Anticipate and report any limitation or issue related to training programs to MAM and Medical Coordinator

Qualifications, experience and skills :

I.    Academic background

[Required]: Medical doctor desirable specialization or training in Tropical Medicine or related studies and/or in Emergency Medicine

[Preferred]: Qualification in Medical Education

II.    Professional/Practical Experience

[Required]: Experience of at least two years in relevant jobs and previous humanitarian experience with INGOs

[Preferred]: Experience as trainer (academic or non-academic) is highly appreciated

III.    Skills and attitudes

  • Aden 
  • Regular visits to the projects on various governorates (Abyan, etc.) are directly part of the position 

V.    Others

Languages : Ability to read, write and communicate professionally in English is mandatory, 
Local language is mandatory.
Essential computer literacy.
