Job Description

  • Location: Al Jawf (both side IRG and DFA)
  • Reports to: Project Manager 
  • Duration: 10 Months 
  • Deadline:  11 / 01 / 2025

Job Purpose:

Project Field Coordinator will play a vital role in the implementation and coordination of the integrated project in Khab wa Ash Sha'f District. The position will be responsible for carrying out field coordination work including overseeing field operations, ensuring effective collaboration among team members, and liaising with local stakeholders to facilitate project activities related to shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), rapid response mechanisms (RRM), and education within the targeted locations. Additionally, Project Field coordinator will follow-up and support the process of obtaining permits, implementing field activities, and submitting activity reports and documents in a timely manner. They will be based on Al Jawf governorate (both side IRG and DFA) with possibility of traveling to Sana’a.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of project activities in the field, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Supervise field teams and ensure that activities are carried out according to established plans and standards.
  • Provide guidance to the team, including staff and volunteers, while working on operational issues related to the implementation of activities.
  • Planning and coordinating with the team for all activities.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project staff in coordination with Project Manager, promoting teamwork and a shared vision.
  • Organize regular meetings with field teams to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure community involvement and support for project activities.
  • Oversee logistical arrangements for project activities, including the procurement of materials and supplies.
  • Represent the project in community meetings and forums to gather feedback and address concerns.
  • Conducting frequent monitoring field visits to closely supervise the team and ensure proper implementation of project activities.
  • Monthly reporting to the PM, and other authorized Managers on the implementation progress, and providing recommendations for activities quality improvement and project sustainability.
  • Coordinating and supervising project-related activities, including performance indicator/target tracking, internal and external capacity building and awareness raising activities.
  • Ensuring high quality of Organization’s services/outputs and related records and overall due project implementation in conformity with local laws, organizational regulations, donor agreement and the thereby stipulated goals, objectives and deadlines.
  • Coordinate all administrative and financial issues related to the area of responsibility as to ensure that all are in accordance with Organization’s guidelines and requirements.
  • Reporting, on a regular/periodic and ad hoc basis, on all activities and events in the area of responsibility, in accordance with the Organization’s and YHF requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Management, Psychology, Social Sciences or other related discipline. Advanced university degree would be an advantage.
  • Relevant professional experience in protection of not less than two (2) years, preferably at a coordinator or management level and/or in humanitarian context.
  • Prior experience with any International NGO is preferable. 
  • Knowledge of and experience in project planning, project cycle management and logical framework.
  • Prior experience with persons of concern (including internally displaced persons, conflict-affected host communities, extremely vulnerable individuals).
  • Strong oral and written English skills.
  • Ability to think independently and problem solving.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Honest, hardworking and committed to community development.
  • Excellent in using Microsoft including (word, excel, power point and emails).

   Languages: 

  • English and Arabic
