Role: Weblogic administrator

Job Description

A Weblogic Administrator is in charge of developing processes and procedures connected to Oracle WebLogic and utilities. They make sure all systems meet the performance specifications and are in line with CAC BANK ADEN requirements. This role will function along with diversely trained professionals in dealing with software and issues concerned with the middleware platform. They are also expected to help out with 24x7 production support. 

Specific Weblogic job duties: 

  • Install and patching: Installation, configuration and tuning of WebLogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher and Oracle HTTP server  (OHS). 
  • Conduct Troubleshooting: Work with the App server DBA and Oracle DBA to resolve application problems. 
  • Perform Migrations: Migrate code between test QA and production environments. 
  • Maximize High Availability: High-availability design, configuration, and maintenance, including clustering and load balancing for WebLogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher and OHS 
  • Create Configuration: Configuration of LDAP and SSO for WebLogic and WebLogic based products such as OBIEE, BI Publisher and OHS . 
  • Perform Tuning: Tuning of Weblogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher and OHS. Develops  standards and tuning metrics and alert thresholds. Create standardized alerts for telephone/pager devices for exceptional performance thresholds.
  • Oversee QA: Review proposed changes and test them in a test and QA environment. 
  • Create Documentation: Develops a complete set of Weblogic documentation describing the current configuration of Weblogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher and OHS. 
  • Develop Best Practices: Attends conferences and gathers Weblogic best practices and standards for tested implementation. 

Experiences:

  • 3 years minimum experience in Weblogic administration / Oracle Weblogic Server certified will be preferred.
  • Experience in Installing and configuring WebLogic domains.
  • Experience in installing fix packs and service packs
  • Must know how to configure LDAP and security realms.
  • Monitors and supports the WebLogic and other middleware platforms.
  • Should have extensive experience on SSL Certificates deployments.
  • Experience supporting applications using J2EE architecture including weblogic Application Server is highly required.
  • Must have good experience in configuring Weblogic with different web servers (Apache, Oracle HTTP Server or Nginx).
  • Performs root cause analysis, diagnostics, and monitoring on various production systems.
  • Must have extensive knowledge on analyzing thread dumps and heap dumps.
  • Must troubleshoot the logs effectively.
  • Should have good knowledge on any scripting language to automate the daily tasks.
  • Should have good knowledge on Linux in terms of CPU, memory and storage.
  • Experience managing Middleware monitoring tools like BMC True sight,
  • Should have experience to manage and mentor the team.
  • Highly dynamic in terms of managing workload and working under pressure.
  • Liaising with vendor’s for application issue.
  • Should be ready to work in 24*7 Support Environment.
  • Should be open to learn other Middleware Technologies.

Education level requirements:

At least a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Computer Science
