Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Aid and relief ( EFHAR ):
Estijabah Foundation for Development is a Yemeni Development Foundation working in the areas of WASH and education, Shelter and health. It was established in 2015 under the license of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 2753. Estijabah seeks to provide quality WASH and education, Shelter and health services in partnership and cooperation with all concerned and interested parties in accordance with the development plans of local authorities.
Job purpose:
He Education Projects Officer will be part of the Education project team in the field office and work towards implementing all the Education project. She/he will specifically be responsible for technical oversight and successful implementation the project education project. She/he will provide technical support to field based staff implementing the Education project with, track performance progresses and guide project team to meet project targets, and conduct regular monitoring visits.
In addition, the Education Project Officer will, on an on-going basis, support the Programs manager to assess current Education needs and assist in program development to secure funding for new projects from a range of donors. Support the program manger to ensure the qualified implementation of the Education project Activities.. He / She will work in close coordination with Education cluster and ensure the integration of interventions with other cluster in the same targeted areas.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Program Management
- Supervision the technical implementation of the education project and ensure timely implementation of quality project activities.
- Develop an monthly/weekly work plan for education activities and review it on a monthly basis.
- Develop a detailed implementation plan and ensure the project activities are implemented according to the appropriate budget, time, and quality
- Ensure that activities are appropriately planned and that challenges and constraints are documented and solutions are identified.
- Manage spending on projects to ensure that implementation is on track with the life of the projects.
- Technically supporting the direct implementation of project activities such as teacher training, school administration, community activities, and educational activities, including the distribution of various materials to the beneficiaries.
- Conduct the relevant technical evaluation to assess the capacity of beneficiaries in the target schools, design the capacity-building program accordingly, provide the necessary technical training and develop appropriate technical guidelines and materials.
- Conduct regular visits to project sites to provide technical guidance/support and identify issues that need timely action and support at various levels.
- Identify and solve all challenges to remove any obstacles that may arise during the implementation of projects.
- Coordinate with relevant ministries and local authorities, community leaders, and other relevant key stakeholders such as government agencies, local NGOs, and community-based organizations in the implementation of education projects.
- Ensure that staff of the project understand their responsibilities and tasks. Upon request, conduct/facilitate training for employees as needed
- Represent the organization in a professional manner.
- Communicate with other stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, and participate in the Education Cluster in relevant meetings.
- Ensure that the stated goals and objectives of all education projects overseen by the position are met with strong monitoring and evaluation follow up and reports are written and submitted to concerned bodies in a timely manner.
- Participate in the design and delivery of M&E plans and design/adapt education information systems.
- Ensure the regular collection of the project required data according to the planned activities and indicators following the MOE and education cluster data base and Prepare regular reports as required for the respective donors and for Estijabah education sector in consultation with the Program manager.
- Support the Program manager to Conduct regular project review meetings with field-based staff to assess the level of achievement of project targets for the various education grants.
Reporting
- Prepare regular timely and high quality monthly, quarterly, progress and final donor narrative and financial project report of the different education project and any other reports requested by the donors in accordance to appropriate guidelines.
- Review all reports prepared by the field staff in assigned sub-office (s) and provide appropriate feedback to the concerned staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or management or any other related field
- Experience: At least two years in the humanitarian field.
Experience / Skills
- 2 years of professional experience in implementing and managing education projects and related budgets.
- Excellent skill of ( Writing and Speaking) in English language
- Experience supervising, managing, and providing technical support and assistance to field-based project staff.
- Experience with an international or national NGO
- Desirable Demonstrated experience in proposal development, including practical experience with budgeting, log frame development, and writing of technical descriptions
- Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship building skills. Strong written and spoken English skills.
- Excellent Microsoft package skills (Ms Word, Ms Excel, Power-point)
Other
- Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding, child safety and protection from sexual abuse and exploitation principles.
