- Duty Station: Based in Hajjah and field visits are required
- Probationary Period: Six months
- Department: Education Program
- Reporting to: Education Senior Programs Officer
Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for Education activities planning and implementation in the targeted districts and supervise program assistants, field supervisors and monitors to carry a high-quality implementation.
- Participate in National and Sub-National Yemen Education Cluster (YEC) meetings, and any other meetings for Education projects.
- Participate in conducting Education Programs assessments and surveys such as baseline, end-line, Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM), Market Assessment, etc. to ensure Education needs are being identified and addressed accurately.
- Participate in preparing timely Education Programs and donor reports on projects activities in compliance with internal RDP requirements and any relevant donor requirements and submit them to the Education Senior Programs Officer.
- Actively participate in conducting the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) in collaboration with the M&E officer.
- Prepare and submit regular internal reports (Weekly, monthly, Final) on all education activities and prepare external reports as per the donor format and submit them to the Education Senior Programs officer.
- Responsible for compilation of project information and sharing regular reports and updates to the Education Senior Programs Officer.
- Organize a smooth program supply; ordering, stocking, distribution and monitoring of consumption and monthly reporting on consumption.
- Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedure and criteria are followed by program, assistants, field monitors and field supervisors.
- Ensure any feedback from beneficiaries or target communities shared by field teams are responded to appropriately or raised to senior education officer if needed Support the Assistants and field supervisors to prevent overlap of beneficiaries with other actors.
- Coordinate with senior education officer to ensure education, logistic and Finance teams know exact distributions timetable and all distribution materials are ready such as students lists, teachers, trainees and the distribution points are allocated at the required times.
- Conduct market assessment, needs assessment, market monitoring as required.
- Monitor the indicators of the projects and assist MEAL team in collecting data from the field and preparing reports.
- Coordinate with finance, Logistics and security focal points in field offices for timely distributions in line with policies and procedures.
- Participate in the process of selecting trainers, preparing training materials, and following up on contracting with them.
- Coordinating with trainers and providing the necessary needs before and during training
- Supervising the implementation of the trainings and resolving the obstacles that may be encountered.
- Organizing and facilitating workshops and awareness sessions on education-related topics with parents, school committees and education workers
- Ensure that program assistants and field monitors understand and check the quality of information collected.
- Compile data and share with relevant staff in a timely manner.
- Work closely with community leaders, school management and other related stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and ensure the most vulnerable people are targeted.
- Support the Project Assistant to disseminate information and engage communities (leaders, parents, etc) about education issues and available services
- Support the project assistant to ensure that classrooms are a safe and protective environment for children, in coordination with the district level education office
- Hold meetings with stakeholders, including local councils and other organizations that serve children and the community, to understand their educational priorities, introduce them to the projects and their goals, and involve them in the process
- Participate in the documenting lessons learnt, best practice and case studies to contribute to sector learning.
- Promptly report any concerns or incidents to the senior education officer and liaise with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
- Ensure the respect of the principle of confidentially and not to disclose any information acquire by performing her/his duties.
- Comply with RDP policies and procedures with respect to code of conduct, child protection, equal opportunities, security and safety, and other relevant policies and procedures
- Other related duties as assigned to enable implementation of the RDP programs.
Capacity building
- Develop learning needs assessment and capacity building plans for both RDP Education assistants and field monitors.
- Coach and mentor program Assistants and Field monitors on emerging education practices and standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree, in education, social sciences, or another relevant field
- Three years of experience while working with development or humanitarian agencies.
- Two-years experiences in designing, planning, monitoring and implementation of education interventions
- Good Organizational Skills
- Project cycle management.
- Capacity to relate with other stakeholders
- Background in Education Activities (trainings, rehabilitation, capacity building and education supplies distributions).
- Good knowledge of the area of intervention
- Skills related to participatory research methods, and computer literacy,
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively to the field, under sometimes difficult and occasionally insecure circumstances.
- Communication skills to operate with a multinational and multilingual team
- Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, SPSS)
- Fluent in oral and written Arabic and English
- Excellent writing skills;
- Ability to work in a challenging environment, under high pressure and ability to cope with tight deadlines;
