Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Organizational Context and Scope:
Under the overall supervision of the Senior Programmes Coordinator (T&R), and the direct supervision of the Programme Manager IBM, the successful candidate will support IBM programmes and operations in carrying out a range of responsibilities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Provide specialized technical support for planned technology upgrades and implement and support to administer the IBM counterpart systems, applications, and infrastructure components. Provide end-user training both as a technical support person and as a trainer for appropriate business process courses when necessary.
2. Liaising between IOM IBM and GoY and INPA technical counterparts related to IBM programme operations and support.
3. Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation and reference materials for planned and delivered IBM technical solutions when assigned.
4. Assist in analyzing performance problems of networks, systems, and applications and recommend solutions to enhance functionality, reliability, and/or usability.
5. Configure & troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to hardware/software problems such as Fortigate/Fortinet firewalls and switches.
6. Support the identification of user requirements, and development of specifications, and training curriculum for software and equipment.
7. Work with software applications providers, IT systems infrastructure.
8. Counter-checking the programme data and information contained in the purchase requests.
9. Maintaining and updating administrative files, assisting in the project's operations and workflow with data confidentiality, and interpreting as needed.
10. Support in drafting of administrative notes for the IBM administration on procedures, Border Crossing Points infrastructure, maintenance/services, etc
11. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION
- University degree in Administration or Computer Sciences or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
- Master’s degree in the above fields will be an advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- Relevant work experience in applied to project support and data analytics;
- Relevant work experience in applied to IT Fortinet infrastructure.
- Experience working for an International Organization or Government Departments.
SKILLS
- Strong background in migration research, demonstrated by relevant publications.
- Advanced programming skills regarding migration data management, analysis, and visualization.
- Quantitative data analysis skills are a strong asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
