GENERAL INFORMATION

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

To perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Verify the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, reporting issues or discrepancies including damaged or expired commodities to the supervisor for timely resolution of problems and to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
  2. Conduct monthly distribution and activity implementation monitoring (physically/onsite and remote) of all programme related activities: in-kind food distribution, cash-based transfers, e-voucher, retailer shops, nutrition centers (blanket and targeted supplementary feeding), school feeding and livelihood activities.
  3. Collate programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
  4. Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
  5. Follow up on Monitoring and Evaluation Findings from cooperating partners to ensure that corrective/follow up actions are taken and documented.
  6. Utilize WFP tools (on MoDA platform), techniques and checklists to ensure that appropriate and required monitoring data is collected on beneficiary satisfaction/assistance process to identify programmatic issues and fostering efficient operations.
  7. Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools (including availability of forms related to delivered food including Waybills, Beneficiary Lists, & FRN) and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
  8. Prepare field mission monitoring reports to document progress of programme implementation.
  9. Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance.
  10. Receiving and recording feedback of the beneficiaries about WFP life-saving assistance.
  11. Coordination with the relevant government departments if required.
  12. Perform other related duties as required assigned by the supervisor.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education.

Experience: Four years of work experience in monitoring and data management, preferably in humanitarian assistance.

Languages: Fluency (level C) in English AND Arabic languages.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

  • Has experience analysing programme output and outcome data.
  • General knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards.

Collects and summarizes programme data, including information on shipments, distribution site logistics, the status of personas in need, and beneficiaries planned and reached for all programme assistance modalities and activities

Programme Monitoring and Review

Gathers, organizes, and provides data on programme outputs, processes, and outcomes, including distribution plans and the status, quantity, and quality of food and cash distributed and technical assistance provided.
