- Duration: 10 Months with extension based on fund availability and performance

2- Overall Purpose:
The Social worker will work closely protection teams and Volunteers to ensure that all child protection activities under the project are designed and implemented at high efficiency. Activities include supporting identified PoCs through the provision of individual support and case management, psychosocial/psychological support, protection monitoring and referral. The social worker has to facilitate appropriate flow of communication between protection teams ensure consistency and effectiveness of the project. The Social Worker’s role shall contribute to strengthening of the protection system defined by TYF project in terms of referral pathway and case management.
3- Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee activities for women and girls in host- communities;
- Timely identify and receive cases with specific needs through home visits or self-referrals, by protection monitors and mobile teams, who may require further assessment and/or intervention and support;
- Conduct assessments on the needs of vulnerable PoCs: interviews shall include an assessment of environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well-being; medical conditions and physical security should be prioritized;
- Provide quality, timely and age-appropriate individual psychological support and care to improve resilience of persons in need approaching the mobile team in line with core guiding principles (Informed consent, safety and security, confidentiality, respect and no discrimination);
- Conduct awareness sessions on relevant topics related to the protection of women and girls, children wellbeing, other topics supporting the development of community-owned activities;
- With the consent of the PoCs, refer them to services offered within the mobile team such as legal assistance and psychosocial support or case management and to external services providers when required, in accordance with service providers referral/service map and ensure follow-up of referred cases;
- Assist Protection Officer to periodically update referral/service map in close coordination with the existing coordination structure (PC, CP AoR, WP AoR); • Take part, when requested by the Protection Officer or Case Manager/ case worker, to UNHCR and IPs meetings and training/capacity-building activities;
- Provide regular updates to Case Manager/ case worker on overall identified PSN (persons with specific needs) cases to the Protection Officer; Terms of Reference: IDP Protection Partners Social Worker
- Assist the Case Manager/ Case Worker and the Protection Officer in preparing weekly and monthly reports;
- Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness,
- Social worker(s) specifically assigned for Child Protection have the following responsibilities; - Identify child protection cases (of abuse, violence, exploitation, etc.) referred by protection monitors, mobile teams, self-referral, referral by other partners etc.
- Organize, conduct and supervise recreational and social activities in the Mobile teamdirected to improve child well-being and confidence.
- Conduct basic assessment, recommend the actions including internal and external referrals, follow-up on the outcomes of the response provided by other services providers after the referral;
- Establish effective working relationship with other child protection actors and enhance timely referral of child protection cases to the entities with child protection expertise in case management (notably UNICEF and MOSAL);
- Participate in Child Protection AoR meetings at field level, maintain stakeholder networks and be updated on the guidance, mapping and any relevant tools developed under CP AoR;
4- Job Requirements :
- Bachelor degree in Social Studies ,
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in similar positions working for INGOs, NGOs,
- Experience in life skills training a strong asset ,
- Able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities able to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to spend extended periods of time in field conditions,
- Spoken and written English are essential.
- Comply with all relevant TYF policies and procedures.
