About YDN:
Yemeni Development Network for NGOs is a leading non-profit and non-governmental organization operating in Yemen and was established in 2003. YDN was mainly established in response to the urgent need for a specialized entity for building the capacity of the community social organizations, and to ensure their active participation and proper fulfillment of their responsibilities. In 2014, YDN was obliged to utilize its accumulated experiences and sophisticated resources to respond to the devastating humanitarian situation developing as a result of the ongoing conflict. This was interpreted in the provision of life-saving services through the implementation of various humanitarian projects in the most affected areas optimally by including local communities in decision-making and reflecting their opinions, as possible, in the interventions.
Job Purpose:
Assist the Program in carrying out high-level program development, coordination, advocacy, organizing, negotiations, communications, coalition building, organizational leadership, management, and fundraising.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- In close collaboration with the programs staff, supporting the setting up of the programs taking into account the logical framework of the program, budget, logistical and administrative processes of YDN.
- Assists other team members in preparing and formatting documents, including, reports, proposals, trackers, and work plans.
- Assists assigned program manager and team members by maintaining calendars, receiving and composing communications as correspondence, and replies to inquiries.
- Keeps records of all information related to the program for documentation, clarification, and presentation to management.
- Writes routine reports and correspondence and assists in formalizing and securing the essential program documents.
- Researches a variety of topics (e.g. current practices, policies, situation updates, etc.) to provide information and/or recommendations and/or address a variety of administrative and programmatic requirements.
- Represent YDN in any meeting, workshops, and trainings that are conducted on the field level and ensure that YDN is presented in the best possible way.
- Timely updating and sharing data to the related cluster management system.
- Compiles data from a variety of sources (e.g. work orders, budget reports, specialized reports, personnel records, etc.) to comply with financial, legal, reporting, and/or administrative requirements.
- Contributes to the project design phase by facilitating and participating in conducting the need assessment as requested.
- Works with and maintains data management and securing any requested projects/programs information with the stated timelines like monthly achievement figures.
- Provide regular updates and reports to assigned supervisors as required
- Performs other related duties as per the instructions from assigned supervisors.
Qualifications And Requirements:
Certifications/Education Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Development, or any other related field.
Required Experience and Competencies:
2. Experience working on programs with similar NGOs is preferable.
3. Ability of good speaking and writing in English and Arabic.
4. Excellent skills in the usage of computers and office software packages (Microsoft Office, etc.)
5. Able to handle work pressures well, and strong communication skills.
6. Take charge of self-development and take initiative.
