DRC has been operating in the Middle East (ME) region for over a decade, running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy programmes through Country Offices (COs) in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey with a Regional Office (RO) in Amman.

Throughout its nine field offices and a workforce of 270 staff, DRC upholds its main programmatic objectives to provide immediate and life sustaining assistance, to strengthen the protective environment, and to reduce displacement related risks and vulnerabilities by promoting self-reliance at household and community level.
About the Job:
Overall
HMA Assistant – Radio Operator will act as an assistant to the TFMs and will be responsible to assist in different operational tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the TFMs in recording and producing minutes of operational meetings.
- Assist the TFMs in updating summary of visitor’s log, attendance sheets, and in drafting reports or briefings or when updating documentations such as SOP etc.
- Support the process of preparing PRs, logistics/procurement plans, draft proposals, reports, among others.
- Liaise with DRC Safety regarding permissions, access, and safety assessments of task site locations.
- Update of Operational Maps/Board and the location of Mine Action Teams.
- Oversee DRC HDP communications to ensure regular contact with all operational teams transiting to and/or deployed in the field using all available means.
- Ensure that daily reports received via all available communications networks are entered correctly on the relevant information boards and that all information is updated on a regular basis.
- Ensure that communications logs are kept up to date and archived monthly.
- In cooperation with the Medical Coordinator, ensure all team lists, CASEVAC flow charts and contact details are updated and correct at all times, and that all DRC HDP senior staff and operational teams are informed of any changes or amendments.
- Ensure Team Leaders/Officers conduct weekly equipment checks and all unserviceable/deficient items are reported and on direction of Operations Manager/Program Manager authorize Teams to raise repair or replacement Purchase Requests.
- Assist in the collation and recording of all training undertaken by all operational personnel.
- Coordinate a regular flow of any updated information is distributed to all departments. (call signs, team lists etc.).
- Maintain copies of all Handover Certificates received from the YEMAC.
- Maintain DRC files organized, with information regarding operations, team compositions, among others.
- Maintain organized the DRC HDP Warehouses and operational equipment.
- When requested accompany TFMs while attending stakeholder meetings, liaison with national/local authorities regarding task planning and implementation.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the TFMs and OM.

Experience and technical competencies:
- Must be fluent in speaking and writing English and Arabic.
- Experience of working in challenging and insecure environments.
- Must be able to work in team environment.
- Must be in good physical condition and health.

Required qualifications:
Education:
- College qualification in English language.
- Familiarity with HMA sector is an advantage.
Languages:
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic;
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Stakeholders:
- HDP Mine Action department in Yemen (Operations Manager, Head of Program, Technical Field Managers, national teams, Programme Manager).
- YEMAC officials.
We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until November 30, 2025, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work as soon as possible, and be willing and able to work in Hodeida.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment. This position will be placed at Band (I Non-manager) and will be reporting to HMA Manager.
